4. Activities Involving Multimedia Editing(Images and Video)

Use Photos App in Windows 10.
With the Photos app, you can easily crop, rotate, add a filter, and automatically
enhance your photos.
In the search box on the taskbar, enter photos. From the list, select Photos.
1.Select a photo to edit from Collections, Albums or Folders
2. Click and drag any part of the image to move it around, or click the “Actual
size” button (the box with corners in the lower-right) to make the photo bigger
(maximise) it. Select your image by clicking on it.

3. Then Edit & Create at the top of your screen.

Select Edit, and then select either Crop & rotate, Filters, or Adjustments.

Crop & Rotate

Click and drag the circles on the corner to manually select a cropping box, or click
the “Aspect ratio” button to choose a standard size. This is quite useful if you
want your image to be viewed on devices, like a smartphone or TV (16:9), iPad
(4:3), or a corporate projector (usually 4:3 as well).

SOFTWARE LAB MANUAL

The “Flip” button will flip the image horizontally, but not vertically, and
the “Rotate” button will spin it clockwise by 90 degrees.

Adjustments
Use the “Light” slider to adjust the contrast, exposure, highlights, and shadows of
the image, with the master “Light” slider being a combination of all four. The
“Colour” slider handles saturation, (level of colour) with 0 reducing the image to
greyscale and 100 making it very vibrant.
The “Clarity” slider will outline specific edges with darkened shadows or blend
them into the background, and the “Vignette” slider will add a white (left) or black
(right) vignette effect to the photo.

SMR-SISM, BCA 40
SOFTWARE LAB MANUAL

Finally, the Red Eye tool will let you click on a subject’s eyes to remove the red
glare from a camera flash, and the “Spot Fix” tool will let you click and drag around
a specific area to obscure fine details. It’s good removing acne and other blemishes.

Use these features to tweak light, color, clarity, and remove red eyes.

5. TASKS INVOLVING INTERNET BROWSING:

What is Web Browser? How does it work?
A web browser, also known as a “browser,” is an application software that allows
users to find, access, display, and view websites. Microsoft Internet Explorer,
Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari are all popular web browsers.

1. Web browser function starts with a user entering the desired URL(Uniform
Resource Locator) into the address bar of the browser. For example
https://www.facebook.com
2. Depending on the URL prefix, the web browser interprets the URL and
displays the content to the user.
3. The URL prefix provides the protocol used to access the location. HTTP://
and HTTPS:// are the most commonly used URL prefixes.
Below are some of the main functions of web browsers:

1.The main task is to collect information from the Internet and make it accessible
to users.

2.A web browser can be used to visit any website. When we type a URL into a
browser, the web server redirects us to that website.

3. Plugins are available on the web browser to run Java applets and flash content.

4. It simplifies Internet surfing because once we arrive at a website, we can

quickly check the hyperlinks and access a wealth of information.

SMR-SISM, BCA 45
SOFTWARE LAB MANUAL

5. Internal cache is used by browsers and is saved so that the user can open the
same webpage multiple times without losing any data.
6.A web browser can open multiple web pages at the same time.
7.Back, forward, reload, stop reload, home, and other options are available on
these web browsers, making them simple and convenient to use.

Example:

1. Click on the google chrome icon on taskbar.

2. Enter specific keywords to search required information.

[Note: Keywords are the terms that you use to find content on the internet.
Making your keywords as specific as possible will help your search engine to
track down the information that you want.]

Chrome will provide many suggestions as hyperlinks.

3. Click on any one of them to get the required information.
