This document provides a list of common exception words that do not follow typical spelling rules, along with guidance for learning to spell them correctly. It lists 12 exception words, and recommends using the look-say-cover-write-check method and writing sentences using the words at home to help learn the spellings. It also notes that this week's spelling test will cover all the words in the provided list, rather than two test words.

Common exception words
Common exception words are words that you need to be able
spell correctly. The only problem is that you may not recognise all of the spelling rules needed to spell them just yet. You may also find that some of them don’t follow specific spelling rules. Try learning them by using look, say, cover, write and check. Try using them to write in sentences when you are at home. This will help you to learn them too.
I haven’t given you two words to test this week. Instead you will be tested on all of the words on the spelling list above.
