Cubify 3D Design Software EOSL Guide

Hello,

Thank you for contacting 3D Systems Desktop Support!

As time passes, and as 3D Systems launches new and revamped offerings, the production and support
for previous product releases is slowly retired until said products reach their EOSL (End of Service Life).

The consumer 3D Design Software offerings (Cubify Invent/Cubify Sculpt/Cubify Design) have reached
their EOSL, and we are no longer able to commit resources to actively support them.

However, we do not want to leave users of the device completely without support, so we have crafted
the following documentation to provide users with all of the content, insights, and troubleshooting
steps that we developed over the software’s lifecycle.

Unfortunately we no longer have access to the licensing system for any of the Cubify software products
so there is no way to generate new keys.

If you purchased the software recently, we urge you to return it and let the seller know that the
software has been discontinued for quite some time and is no longer supported.

If you would like to look at consumer level software that is most similar to the Cubify packages, we
would suggest Alibre’s Atom 3D software:

***NOTE: While we have gone to great efforts to keep all of this information as up to date as possible,
please note that there may be some content here that reflects an older version of the software.

Consumer 3D Design Software Technical Support:

1. I am unable to use my license key. What can I do?

The licenses for the Cubify software offerings only have one active seat, so if the license was not able to
be deactivated from a previous installation of your software before attempting to activate it on a new
installation, then the license is still in use.

If you are using Cubify Sculpt, you can deactivate your license by running the software as an
administrator and then going to Help --> About Licensing in the software.

You will see an option to deactivate the license.

If you are using Invent, you should not need to deactivate the license, so just be sure that the license key
you are entering exactly matches the one that was provided to you originally.

Unfortunately we no longer have access to the licensing system for any of the Cubify software products,
so if you no longer have your license key then there is no way to recover it.

If you would like to look at consumer level software that is most similar to the Cubify packages, we
would suggest Alibre’s Atom 3D software:

https://alibre.com/atom3d/
2. My software wants me to enter a license key every time I open it. What can I do?

If you are in a classroom setting, or using the software on a computer with multiple users, you will need
to install the software in a way as to where all users on a computer have access to the original
installation of the software.

You should be able to install the software as an administrator and create a shortcut link in a folder that
is shared with all users on that computer.
You may need to speak with your network admin or IT department to do this.

Unfortunately we no longer have access to the licensing system for any of the Cubify software products,
so if you no longer have your license key then there is no way to recover it.

3. I want to use the software on a computer using Windows 10. Will it work?

Windows 10 had not been released at the time the software was discontinued, but we have not seen
any issues with the software being able to run on a computer using Windows 10.

If you experience any issues, please work with your network admin or IT department to ensure that you
have the correct permissions to install the software.

If you are on a home computer, try right-clicking the installer file and selecting the option to run the
program as an administrator.

Unfortunately we no longer have access to the licensing system for any of the Cubify software products,
so if you no longer have your license key then there is no way to recover it.

4. I have a technical issue with a software function. What can I do?

Each of the software packages has an extensive HELP section that should be able to answer the vast
majority of functionality questions that you may have.

If there is a function detailed in the HELP section that you are not able to use in the software, it may be
due to the fact that the software utilizes the same HELP index as some of the advanced versions of the
software, which are no longer available.

Unfortunately there are no longer any contacts within 3D Systems that have hands-on experience with
the software, so your best option is to utilize the HELP section.
5. Does 3D Systems offer any other consumer level 3D design software?

3D Systems does not currently offer any other consumer level 3D design software packages.

If you are interested in professional level offerings, I would recommend taking a look at the page below:

https://support.3dsystems.com/s/software-support-3dsystems?language=en_US

If you would like to look at consumer level software that is most similar to the Cubify packages, we
would suggest Alibre’s Atom 3D software:

https://alibre.com/atom3d/

6. I am no longer able to add tables or notes in Cubify Design. What can I do?

To begin, please delete your Design user profile:

Windows Vista/7/8:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Alibre Design\User_Name

Windows 10:

C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Alibre Design\default user

Delete the "user.NET Profile" file in that folder and restart Alibre to test the functions. If you cannot find
these folders, turn on Hidden Files and Folders. Display Hidden Files and folders with Start> My
Computer> Tools>Folder Options> View> and click the check on Show Hidden Files and Folders. You may
need to press the Alt key on your keyboard to see the Tools menu appear in Windows Explorer.

If this does not resolve the issue, then it is possible that this issue is related to the latest Windows 10
update. The issue mainly caused problems with tables in 2D drawings, but some users are reporting
issues with Notes as well.

The only option advised that could resolve this issue at this point is to downgrade your OS to an older
version of Windows like 8.1 or 7 (uninstalling the update will not resolve it).

Unfortunately we no longer have access to the licensing system for any of the Cubify software products,
so if you no longer have your license key then there is no way to recover it.

If this is not satisfactory, I would suggest looking in to Alibre’s Atom 3D software.

7. My complimentary Cubify Invent license that came with my printer no longer works. What can I do?

As long as you keep track of the card that the license came on, and you are sure that you are inputting
the key exactly as it appears on that card, the key should work.

Those licenses were considered to be complimentary, and were never logged in to our system, meaning
that they cannot be replaced.

If you recently downloaded the “trial” from our website, and you had never used the trial before on the
computer you are using, then you may be in the trial period for the software.

If this is the case, you will need to use the software as normal until the trial expires, and then input the
key.

Unfortunately we no longer have access to the licensing system for any of the Cubify software products,
so if you no longer have your license key then there is no way to recover it.

8. I lost the complimentary Cubify Invent license that came with my printer. What can I do?

The licenses that came with the printers were considered to be complimentary, and were never logged
in to our system, meaning that they cannot be replaced.

If you would like to look at consumer level software that is most similar to the Cubify packages, we
would suggest Alibre’s Atom 3D software:

https://alibre.com/atom3d/

9. The code that is printed in the booklet that came with the software is not working. What can I do?

Unfortunately we no longer have access to the licensing system for any of the Cubify software products
so there is no way to generate new keys.

If you purchased the software recently, we urge you to return it and let the seller know that the
software has been discontinued for quite some time and is no longer supported.
