Call to Gather
All: Good news for the poor is to fulfill their basic needs.
To make this possible, what truth does the Gospel proclaim?
Good news for the poor is to fulfill their basic needs.
Leader: Better life for weaker people! For the broken ones a new life!
The blind receive sight; prisoners are released;
Stressed ones find relief; distant ones find new life.
All: Good news for the poor is to fulfill their basic needs.
To make this possible, what truth does the Gospel proclaim?
Good news for the poor is to fulfill their basic needs.
Leader: Freedom for all those entangled those ashamed received new life!
Freedom for bonded slaves, care for the wounded,
Strong with help from God, let’s do our best for them!
All: Good news for the poor is to fulfill their basic needs.
To make this possible, what truth does the Gospel proclaim?
Good news for the poor is to fulfill their basic needs.

Refrain:
Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ be our light, shine in your church gathered today.
Invocation
Prayer
2/5
We have been inspired by his humility in service and his courage in justice.
We have been shaken by his compassion for the outcast and anger toward the greedy.
We have been encouraged to follow Jesus' way of service for all.
Leader3: Call us out of our own churches and ministries to visit the peripheries,
Call us to break through the apathy and indifference within our faith communities,
Call us to solidarity with those who are rejected, marginalised and dehumanised,
Call us to actions of transformation and liberation of the oppressed. So be it!
Call to Confession
Minister: Faced with a world victimized by greed, indifference and apathy, we ask God’s
pardon for the sins we have committed against humanity and the rest of creation.

Responsive Prayers
People: Empower us to work for Your mission and to follow Jesus Christ,
Whose work has inspired us to walk in the way of love and justice.

Leader2: O God, inspire your churches to work together as the living body of Christ
Called and anointed by Your Spirit to proclaim the good news to the poor,
And the message of freedom to the enslaved and marginalized,
People: To give sight to the blind and to give voice to the muted,
To liberate the oppressed, discriminated, and dehumanized
By the ruling structures, systems and powers of this world.
People: Where every child and their family have food and a roof over their heads,
Where women, men, children, youth and LGBTQIA+ experience full dignity,
Where the poor and marginalized have access to basic goods and services;
where the world's resources are distributed fairly to all nations and peoples;
and where there is no hatred, prejudice, discrimination, nor oppression.
All Leaders: O God, call us to work toward genuine service and love for all creation.
By Your Holy Spirit, strengthen and empower us to go beyond our comfort zones.
People: To journey with You and with the suffering people and the groaning earth,
To serve the people whose hope is You alone. Amen.
