A star is born was released to the media on the year 2018 and was directed by Bradley Cooper, who

also
acted on the movie as Jackson Maine. His character portrays a famous country rock singer privately
battling an alcohol and drug addiction. Then he met Ally, portrayed by Lady Gaga, who is a waitress and
a singer-songwriter one night on a drag bar. Amazed by her talent, he invited Ally to come with him and
perform her material. This is where Ally's journey as a singer began and eventually they become a
couple. They performed a lot together on stage and wrote a lot of songs for each other. The rising action
starts when Jack criticizes Ally's new image and rising success as she was outpacing his recent decline in
popularity, one reason for his decreasing popularity is his addiction to alcohol and drugs. He would be
seen in public toxicated and would embarass himself in front of many people. Jack joined a
rehabilitation program because of this. But it was all too late, his life as an artist is already ruined. He
can no longer perform on tours together with Ally which prompt Ally to cancel the remainder of tour so
she can take care of Jack. This made Rez, the manager of Ally, mad and he confronted Jack while they
are waiting for Ally to come home. He accuses Jack of ruining Ally's career and how embarassing it is to
be married to him. This is where he notice that the record label was not the one who canceled the tour
it was Ally's decision, in order to take care of him. He realized that he was being a burden in Ally's life.
She would never be successful because of him. In that night where he promised to come to Ally's
concert, he decided to lock himself up in the garage and hang himself. The movie talks about love,
ambition, sacrifice, and addiction.

This movie uses a psychological approach in portraying the characters in the story. Even with huge
popularity, Jack has always felt alone. He relied on drinks and drugs for accompaniment. He is someone
who is battling with his inner demons while maintaining his music career. While Ally in in an dead-end
job as a waitress waiting for something she could have as big as what Jack has. In the story, we can see
that Jack is falling into the darkness that is consuming him slowly. But with the help of each other's
company, they are far away from everyone's judgements and Jack's addiction to alchohol. They dive
deeper into the water together far from everyone, that is the real meaning of their first song together
'Shallow'. Ally gave him a home that he always asks for. But as Ally gained her dream, to become a
famous singer, Jack started losing something that he values. His father and his older brother. Ally's
popularity grew more and more that she became preoccupied to achieving her dream. She did not
noticed that the darkness that once consumed Jack came back to him as he started losing Ally. He did
not lose Ally physically but emotionally. Ally changed the way she looks and even from the way she sings
and Jack hated that. From the beginning, they bond together through writing a song together. Jack felt
like the Ally the he knew was gone. His home was gone. And to make things worse, he became insecure
about himself that Ally became a symbol of his insecurity. But after spending some time in rehab he
realized that he got his drinking from his das when he was a child and wants to be with Ally. She also
realizes that she might as well not become a star than to lose Jack again. But just when Jack starts to feel
okay, Rez confronted him and said he is ruining Ally's life and wants him out of her life which made him
feel useless again and it reminded him that a lot of people don't want him around like his older brother.
He felt like the world is better without him and that is why he hanged himself that night just like what he
failed to do when he was thirteen and his father was too drunk to notice that his child is trying to
commit suicide.
