Teaching point

Book 3 main point we teach vibrato and shifting, more precise intonation and deeper tone in every
position. So we will start with tonalization at G major and minor for 1 st and 3rd position.

Song 1, Gavotte by Becker

Focusing on 4 Bow patterns in which review from Twinkle, Etude and crossing string. For the bowing, we
work more with dynamic changes and Xiao Long Bao at changing string. Left hand intonation will work
more with low 1st finger and high 3rd finger.

Song 2, Minuet by Bach

Review like Minuet 3 from book 1 just here we introduce the ornaments (appoggiatura, mordent, and
triller). Start with ornaments exercise for every finger beginning with Twinkle and go to every ornament.
For the 2nd Minuet, we introduce the G minor scale and detailing bar 27 with new fingering position for
low 2nd finger F sharp. The Xiao Long Bao should be easier since the Song 1 already been introduced but
in Minuet, we work more with crossing string Xiao Long Bao.

Song 3, Gavotte in G minor by Bach

Start the Bow Pattern with Sad Twinkle in G minor scale with crescendo in every note. Then we work
more with the scales in slur with Xiao Long Bao. Here we focus on the deeper and more beautiful tone
with clear phrasing. Lastly, detailing the bar 10-11 with more precise tempo, beat and intonation

Song 4, Humoresque by Dvorak

Introducing the off string bowing but landed with a gentle tone is a must. We can do this at Twinkle D
major. Exercising with the fast fingers and stop at the end of every note. Take more time for practicing
the 3rd position shifting at bar 40 but before that, we already practicing the shifting with Yost exercise.

Song 5, Gavotte bu Becker

We have 6 Bow pattern which review the Twinkle Perpetual Motion and Etude to work with swing and
Xiao Long Bao tone, short and off notes, long and legato tone. Lastly we have to take care about the
short notes in one bowing pattern. Work it slowly and precisely.
Song 6, Gavotte in G major by Bach

Starting the practice with bow pattern at Twinkle in A and E string with long bow both deep and shallow
tone. Then work the short and long notes at A major scale. Before start teaching the song, make sure
that we work more at the thriller on every finger. After that, we will focus on the ornaments to make
tone beautiful and not only fast notes playing. For the bar 25, work it super slow but even notes and
bow. Take a look at the bar 17 on 2 nd Gavotte which introduce the double stops. Work the tone and
intonation precisely first and then we will combine both of the notes gently.

Song 7, Bourree by Bach

We start with combining double stop and thrill. Try to work one by one first and no need to rush
working on it. First we start the double stop with gentle tone. After that we work with the thriller but
keep the tone beautiful. After both of it, we try to combine but still the tone should be beautiful. Don’t
forget about the clear phrasing on every phrase. At the bar 5-6 we introduce the important notes and
move the bow with different tone. At Bourree II, we introduce the changing mood since the scale is
different too. Take more time to practice the small and big turtle daily finger exercise since they have to
work it lots at 2nd Bourree. Clear phrasing is a must and work super carefully on the Xiao Long Bao
