Some time ago when I was in the sixth grade, I went in an English camp at Bicaz.

For a week we had a lot

of activities such as: different games, competitions, we watched movies and documentaries and we
visited some new places. It was a beautiful time. All the children were divided in several groups, each
group had a teacher from England and a Romanian animator that translated from time to time what the
teacher had said. In that camp I made new friend like Mary and we had fun together.

One day the teacher suggested going in a little trip and visiting the city center of Piatra Neamt. We all
approved and left for our destination. We got on the bus and on the way, Mary and I were thinking how
beautiful it would be. Mary told me that she hoped she would have enough time to take a lot of photos
because she wanted to remember that trip. I agreed with her but I advised her that she had to live in the
moment because the best memories are not seen in the pictures, they would have a place in our mind
and heart for the rest of our lives. She answered yes thoughtfully.

Finally, we got off the bus and we went to visit Stephen the Great’s tower. The place was beautiful, a
tower with a historical significance. We walked around and admired the place. The animator told us not
to go far from the group. At one-point Mary asked me if I could take her a photo. I answered that I
would do that with pleasure. After I took some pictures, she exclaimed terrified that the group had left. I
looked around and I confirmed. We really were left alone. I said to Mary scared that it wouldn’t have
happened if we had been more careful. But what was still to do. I didn’t even have anyone to call
because I didn’t have a phone number. We were lost. And then something came into my mind. I
remembered that on the bus someone announced that we would visit the zoo too. So, I started to ask
everyone that came in front of me where and how far was the zoo. There were some adolescents that
lied to us but there was a woman that said us that the zoo was at five minutes and she gave us some
directions. We thanked and we started to walk. After a minute Mary’s mom called. She complained to
her that we were lost and her mother acted immediately and called a supervisor to come to us. The
supervisor came and told us next time to be more careful. We promised that we would never do that
again and everything ended well.

From this happening I learned that I should never leave the group, to be more careful when I am
somewhere for the first time and not to get lost again.
