SMART SECURITY DEVICE FOR WOMEN

SAFETY USING IOT

ABSTRACT
In current world, women's are not safe at many places with so much advancement in
technology. Women harassment is increasing day-to- day with the increasing population. In
Bangladesh, nearly 13 rapes occurs in every day. The WHO states that Bangladesh is one of the
world's listed unsafe country for women.
With rapid advancement in technology, we are trying to give a solution for this problem. We
have designed a smart security device which acts like a self- defense mechanism for women in
an emergency situation. The pulse - rate sensor and temperature sensor is used to detect possible
atrocity automatically when women is in unsafe. The location of the person in real time is
obtained by GSM module and it sends to the registered contact mobile numbers and to the
nearby police station. And the system also gets activated by pressing the button.

WE CLAIM:
 In the existing system, there is no way to monitor the crimes occurring against women.
However, there are some places where CCTV cameras are fitted, and the recording is
stored. They are used only to act after everything has happened.

 The GPS device is able to inform the current location and tracking, immediately to the
registered mobile numbers. The system gets activated either by pressing a switch or
sensing the information through the pulse – rate sensor and temperature sensor when the
women is in unsafe .

FIELD OF INNOVATION:
 The pressure sensor is a force sensitive resistor, depending on how much pressure is
applied, the force sensitive resistor will vary according. The pulse -rate sensor with GSM
and GPS to detect a possible atrocity and notify her friends and family through a message
containing her location. For communicating different sensors, switches, modules, the
Arduino UNO microcontroller is used.
BACKGROUND OF INNOVATION:
The only way for the women to ask for help is use their mobile phone to send
a message to their friends and family. In that crucial moment, for most of the women, it is
difficult to hold of their mobile phone. Even if they do, it is difficult to send a message quickly
before anything brutal happens. It is also very unreliable.

OBJECTIVE OF INNOVATION:
The main objective of this project is to provide security foe women, to find the location
of the person in real-time is obtained by using GSM module.

SUMMARY OF THE INNOVATION:

The major advantage of the proposed system is that it is adaptable i.e., in a
situation where it is humanly possible to reach the device, it allows activating the alert
mechanism through a simple button and for situations where it is not possible to react it still
detects the danger using the sensor. The proposed system is also light weight, cost – efficient and
easy to carry.

DESCRIPTION:
The main purpose of building a women safety device to act as a rescue and prevent any
harm at the time of hazard especially for women. Through the proposed system a smart device
for women’s safety which automates the emergency alert system is designed. This system detects
and sends the alerts for the dear ones with the location coordinates of the women without the
requirement of her interaction in critical times. It sends an emergency message automatically to
the relatives and nearby police station. Through the process of customization, this prototype can
be modified to wearable inside the dresses. The main advantage of our proposed system in that
both automatic and manual mechanism is implemented. It is also cost – efficient and easy to use.
The proposed system can be further developed with capabilities like recording audio, video of
the culprit when the alert mechanism is activated which can be produced as a piece of evidence
in the court.
