The market for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) has experienced rapid growth
in recent years and is expected to continue expanding. AMRs find applications
in multiple industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, warehouse, logistics,
and retail, to automate tasks and enhance efficiency. AMRs have transformed
the warehouse industry by revolutionizing the movement and management
of goods within warehouses. The adoption of AMRs has significantly impacted
warehouses, improving efficiency, accuracy, safety, and flexibility. Consequently,
many warehouse operators are incorporating AMRs as an integral part of their
logistics operations, and the trend towards increased automation is expected to
persist in the future.
1.
Navigation and Mapping: Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
possess the capability to autonomously traverse their surroundings
using an array of sensors, cameras, and advanced mapping
technologies. They have the ability to generate precise maps of their
environment and utilize them to devise efficient routes.
6. Pick and Place Operations: Many AMRs are equipped with robotic
arms or grippers, enabling them to skillfully grasp objects and precisely
position them in desired locations. This capability proves particularly
advantageous in assembly lines, warehouses, and manufacturing
facilities.
10. Data Collection and Analysis: AMRs can be equipped with a wide
array of sensors to gather data pertaining to their environment, such
as temperature, humidity, or inventory levels. They are also capable
of processing and analyzing this data to provide valuable insights for
decision-making and process optimization.

• R
anger GTP (formerly knowns as Butler) – These are goods-to-person mobile
robots that transport inventory to workers for picking and packing. These robots
work in tandem with human operators, autonomously navigating through the
warehouse to retrieve and transport shelves or bins to the designated picking
stations. The approximate payload capacity ranges from 220 to 3,500 pounds.
• R
anger Mobile Sorter (formerly known as Flexo) – These are mobile sortation
robots that operate in fleets to move parcels efficiently and fluidly from receiving
through dispatch. The mobile sorter enables efficient and ergonomic order
fulfillment processes by sharing the workload and optimizing the workflow. The
payload capacity of the Ranger Mobile Sorter depends on the specific model
and configuration. While the exact payload capacity may vary, it typically ranges
from 40 kilograms (88 pounds) to 60 kilograms (132 pounds).
• R
anger Picking (formerly known as PickPal) – These are assisted picking
cobots designed to work in tandem with goods-to-person robots. These bots
either assist humans with picking orders or pick orders autonomously in
manned or unmanned warehouses. The exact payload capacity of these bots
may vary; it typically ranges from 10 kilograms (22 pounds) to 30 kilograms (66
pounds). This payload capacity allows the Ranger Picking to handle various
items, such as bins, totes, and cartons, during the order-picking process.
GreyOrange offers additional solutions along with the Ranger series of robots,
including:

Ranger Tote-to-person (TTP), and Ranger Assist.
Analyst Perspective
•
GreyOrange’s robust product portfolio and its initiative to combine AI/
ML and robotics help organizations optimize their operations and meet
pressing fulfilment needs. The company offers the GreyMatterTM intelligent
Fulfillment Operating System (FOS) that uses both real-time and predictive
data to collaboratively orchestrate how and when orders are filled by people,
the company’s AMRs (titled Ranger robots) and other companies’ robots
and automation agents that have been certified to the Ranger-standard of
performance and pre-integrated with GreyMatter. In addition, the company
intends to expand its Ranger robotics portfolio as well as to expand the robots
and other modern fulfillment automation technology produced by other
companies that it certifies and pre-integrates with GreyMatter as part of its
Certified Ranger Network.
•
The FOS integrates with the robots to support real-time decisions and
fluidity across the operational areas. GreyOrange provides a dynamic
master framework that integrates with and handles the Ranger Robots and
GreyMatter software to deliver agility, accuracy, and ideal workflows for
efficient fulfillment outcomes. The FOS is also equipped with a command
center that provides a visual representation of real-time performance & data-
driven options for informing dynamic decisions and ensures a continuous
flow of inventory considering the market demand. Additionally, GreyMatter is
equipped with an intuitive dashboard that enables organizations to perform
real-time adjustments across the warehouse by providing visibility into the
inventory, pick, put, audit rates, and numerous other metrics.
•
From a geographical presence perspective, GreyOrange has a strong
presence in North America, followed by Europe and APAC regions. The
company also has a fair amount of presence in Latin American regions.
From an industry vertical perspective, the company caters to a wide range
of industries and markets, such as eCommerce, omnichannel retail, fashion,
home improvement/home goods, sports equipment, electronics, FMCG,
