    ✓ start and check RADARs
    ✓ start and check ECDIS systems and check setup for departure/ intended voyage
    ✓ start and check Echo Sounder, Weather Chart Recorder

    ✓ start and check Course and Manoeuvring Recorder


    ✓ start and check GPS
    ✓ start and check VHF

    ✓ check gyro compass, magnet compass and repeaters


    ✓ test tyfon and general alarm system
    ✓
    switch on and check navigation lights
    ✓ test morse signal lamp and aldis lamp
    ✓ arrange relevant chart materials, pilot books and accessories
    ✓
    ✓
    prepare binoculars, bearing diopter
    ✓
    receive and access actual weather report
    ✓ visula checking of propeller and rudder area

    ✓ start and test steering gear

    ✓ man the wheel, change to manual control, if necessary


    ✓ test communication bridge, ECR
    ✓ test communication bridge - mooring stations
    ✓ test emergency telephone system
    ✓ test bow thruster unit (if applicable)
    ✓ test manoeuvre by ECR control / bridge control

    ✓ engine department reported ready for arrival


    ✓ prepare pilot information card
    ✓
    deck including anchors prepared for arrival and mooring winches
    ✓ checked for possible hydraulic
    ✓ setup AIS-dat to correspond with the present situation (e.g. draught, etc.)
