SPEAKING TEST (7 minutes/student) – 10 marks

Part 1: Social interaction (2 marks): 2 minutes


- The examiner asks for the student’s name, then asks him/her 3 – 4 questions about one of the
following topics:
 Let’s talk about your hometown.
- Where are you from? / Where is your hometown?
- What is your hometown famous for?
- What is the weather like in your hometown?
- If tourists visit your hometown, what advice will you give them?
- What are your hometown’s specialties?

- How many people are there in your family? Who are they?
- Do you live in a nuclear or extended family? Why do you say so?
- What does your family usually do together?
- Who is the closest person to you in your family?
- Who takes care of your family, your mother or your father?

 Let’s talk about your free time activities.


- What activity do you like to do in free time?
- How often do you do it?
- Where/ When do you do?
- Why do you like it?
- Who do you usually do this activity with?

Part 2: Solution discussion (3 marks): 3 minutes
Situation 1: Which of the following would be the best way to spend a relaxing weekend,
watching TV at home, going on a trip, or hanging out with friends in a café? Why do you
think so?

Situation 2: You are going to have a short-duration holiday next month. What type of
