Deadline: Monday 21st Feb. Midnight (No extensions)
Please mention any approximation/assumptions made.
Question 1: Find the expressions of R1 and Rout. [5]

Question 2: For figure 2: Vth = 0.4 V, λ = 0.1𝑽−𝟏 , Kn’ = 200 μA/𝑽𝟐 and W/L =2u/0.2u for all transistors.

Question 6: Q1- For the following circuit VDD = 3.3 V, Ibias = 100 μA, (W⁄ L)1,2,5,6 = (10μ ⁄0.5μ),
(W⁄L)3,4 = (30μ ⁄0.5μ) [10]
For NMOS: Vthn = 0.57 V, λ = 0.1 𝑽−𝟏 , unCox = 190 μA/𝑽𝟐
For PMOS: Vthp = -0.71 V, λ = 0.1 𝑽−𝟏 , upCox = 55 μA/𝑽𝟐

a) Find the expression and value for the Gain, and Output resistance.
b) Calculate the total power consumption of the circuit? Suggest ways by which the consumption may be
reduced.

Question 7: LTSPICE Simulation: [20]

Given that: (W/L)1 = (W/L)2 = (W/L)3 = 5µm/0.18µ, unCox =90µA/𝑽𝟐 , Vth = 0.7V and λ = 0.1𝑽−𝟏
Implement the above figure on LTSPICE and solve the following parts.
Add screenshots for each part in detail to ensure no deduction of marks.
a) Select the value of Vb such that Iout is precisely equal to 0.5mA.
b) Determine the change in Iout if Vb varies by +-100 mV. Explain the cause of this change.
c) Using both hand analysis and SPICE simulations, determine the output impedance of the cascode and
compare the result.
