(Document No: 1000-S- 90-38-S-6010-00-03, Rev:003) REFERENCE Contract Requirements. (Document No: 1000-S-90-38-S-6010-00-03,Rev:003) SSPC-SP10, Blast Cleaning SSPC-SP2, Hand Tool Cleaning SSPC-SP3, Power Tool Cleaning SSPC-SP1 Solvent Cleaning APPLICATION PROCEDURE 4f painting and touch-up of joints, areas were damaged while transportation ot loading then repairing will be done according to below procedures. Blisters, flaking, disboundment from substrate, dry-spray, mud cracks, surface cracks, runs sags, over spray, embedded dust or dirt, wrinkling, rust bleeding, pinpoint rusting, repair on welded areas ete. shall be repaired as follows: 4.1. Ifthe coating damage does not expose to the steel substrate, the damaged area will be solvent cleaned to remove all contamination and be allowed to ety. The solvent must not contain paraffin or other slow evaporating additives. All metal surfaces that do not require blasting or power tool leaning shail be thoroughly cleaned with salvent to remove ail foreign matter. The coating must be hard dry before proceeding with repair. The coating around the damaged area will be chamfered to ensure continuity of the patch coating, The full coating system that is removed will then be re- applied in accordance with this specification. Do not remove all layers of ‘coating unless disboundment or blistering is found to be from the substrate. General damage to paintwork incurred at any stage of transit or instalation, shall be re-prepared by tool cleaning to the St 2 according to SSPC-SP2 Page 3 of 4 6000-B-90-01-P-0142-00-E Rev 01 Sakhalin i, Phase 2 Development Project Construction af the Onshore Processing Facies Pointing & Coating Touch-up Ana Repay Procedure 42. Taper the surrounding sound coating to a feather edged using 60 - 80 grit sandpaper or emery paper and thoroughly roughened the coating in overlap area. Prepared area shall be clean and free of debris and contaminants. Edges to intact paint should be roughened as much as possible. Preparation shall extend 25mm into the sound paintwork and a further 25mm of sound paintwork shall be lightly treated to abrade the surface, Re-painting shail then cover the area, extending 50mm on to the Prepared paint surface. Prior to the application of any coating all damage to previous coats will have been repaired, All weld joints and coating damaged to the stee! substrate, area will be cleaned as originally specified for that surface and primer applied as follows. it must be done by hand too! cleaning to minimum St 2 according fo SSPC-SP2. After cleaning, this area should be painted with a primer of the approved paint system. The re-cleaning is carried over to secure Surrounding coating and the edges chamfered. The remaining coats will be applied to complete the full paint system, For repair on welded areas, the damaged area will be re-cleaned as originally specified for that surface and primer applied as follows. It must be done power tool cleaning to minimum. St 3 according to SSPC-SP3. Prior to power tool cleaning, all ol, grease, salts and other gross contaminants shall be removed by solvent cleaning followed by fresh water washing. Care is to be exercised in the use of ower to prevent excessive roughening of the surface and the formation of ridges and burrs. Excessive power wire brushing using power tools produces a bumished surface unsuitable for coating. After cleaning, this ‘area should be painted with a surface primer of the approved paint system. The remaining coats will be applied to complete the full paint system, Power wire brushing methodology must not be used to prepare a steel surface to be coated with inorganic zinc. Surface preparation of items requiring inorganic zine coatings is done according to SSPCSP-10 standard, Damage to an inorganic zine coating shall be repaired by localized blasting and application with Company approved zinc coating.
