Today you are leaving, and you have learned many things from us

here in the office. You have also learned that not all police are focused on

criminals, the police also help our community by doing activities. My

program is about how to help in our community, and as a student who

wants to become a police officer, you must do everything to reach your

dreams so that your parents will not regret what they spend for you. In 5 to

10 years, you will be a full-time police officer, and I hope you will end up on

a good path. You will follow the law and then don't get a girlfriend or

boyfriend first because there is time for that as well.

CHAPTER 3: THE

WORK IMMERSION

STUDENTS
STRAND

HUMSS stands for Humanities and Social Sciences. It is one of the

strands offered to Senior High students. This strand is for learners who aim to

take up journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and other

social science-related courses in college. The HUMSS strand revolves

around improving a student’s reading, writing, and speaking skills because

if you haven’t noticed yet, people who choose this strand are aspiring to

become members of the society who will be dealing with a lot of people.

Moreover, the HUMMS strand is designed for those who wonder what is on

the other side of the wall. In other words, you are ready to take on the world

and talk to a lot of people. This is for those who are considering taking up

journalism, communication arts, liberal arts, education, and other social

science-related courses in college.

If you take this strand, you could be looking forward to becoming a

teacher, a psychologist, a lawyer, a writer, a social worker, or a reporter

someday. This strand focuses on improving your communication skills. Oh!

And priesthood is a choice in here too!

While it is true that the HUMMS means less math and less numbers, this does

not mean that this strand is ‘easier’ than other strands. Part of the curriculum

includes introduction to world religions, Philippine and world literature,

political and community development specialization subjects, and more.

MY REFLECTION
REFLECTION

Being a work immersion student is an incredible experience filled with

fun and valuable lessons. It’s an opportunity to learn from professionals,

whether it be employees or policemen, who impart not only good manners

but also knowledge that we were previously unaware of. The experiences

we gained during this period will remain etched in our memories forever.

These experiences will serve as constant reminders as we embark on our

journey over the next five years, and I sincerely hope that some of the

individuals we encountered during our work immersion can become our

colleagues during that time. It would be a remarkable testament to the fact

that we were once a part of this place and that they played a significant

role in shaping us as students. The lessons and skills we acquired from them

will undoubtedly find practical application in our future endeavors.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed school

Principal, Sir Muesco, for granting us the opportunity to undergo this work

immersion program. It was within the walls of our work environment that we

had the privilege of meeting extraordinary individuals. Their influence and

positive impact on our lives cannot be understated. We are truly grateful

for the chance to have worked alongside such exceptional people.
