DINING OPT-OUT RULES

1. If a resident student is found violating any of the provisions of the mess opt-out rules, there
will be a fine/penalty imposed for the same.
2. A resident student who has opted out of Dining/Mess, if found in violation of the
Dining/Mess opt-out rules, contained in the Dining Policy, shall be required to pay the
Dining/Mess fee for the entire month (Rs. 6000/-) to the concerned Mess vendor, and
additionally pay a fine of Rs.500/- for such violation to the Institute Administration.
3. For a repeat violation by the same resident student, she/he shall pay a fine of Rs.1000 to the
Administration.
4. And in the case of a third-time violation by the same resident student, a fine of Rs.5000 shall
have to be paid by the resident student to the Administration.
5. For those resident students opting in for the Dining/Mess, taking food out of the
Dining/Mess area is strictly prohibited.
6. If a resident student is found violating this provision, she/he shall be required to pay a fine of
Rs.500 for the first violation, Rs. 1000 for a repeat violation and Rs.5000 for the third
violation.
7. Every such violation shall be reported to the Office of ADSA by Infracom, and thereupon,
ADSA shall impose the fines/penalties prescribed herein.
8. Upon being notified about the violation and the payment of the fine amount by the ADSA,
the said resident student shall remit the fine amount, as prescribed, immediately without
loss of time, to the Accounts department.
9. Wherein a resident student fails to deposit the fine amount, as prescribed by the ADSA to
the Accounts Department, she/he shall be required to pay a penalty amount (Three times
the fine amount prescribed)
10. All orders for prescription of fines/penalties shall be made by the ADSA.
11. Wherein multiple cases of resident students violating the opt-out rules are reported by the
vendor, the mess would be closed during the meal timings for those resident students who
have opted out. However, in every such complaint case, InfraCom shall give a fair hearing to
the resident students and thereupon decide the action to be taken.
12. InfraCom shall then communicate the action to be taken to the ADSA.
13. All such action must be taken with prior approval and concurrence of ADSA.
14. ADSA also reserves the right to amend, modify, alter, change, and add any provision to the
Dining/Mess policy or document by whatsoever name called.
