Re: Use of Additives/Concrete Admixture

Dear sir,
By field(or oral) directive, we were directed to use additive/concrete admixture.  This material is not
described in, or part of, the original plans and specifications, nor is it in any way called for by the contract
documents(Job Order).  Further, it was not discussed during our meetings on cost
adjustment of prices of our quotation.

The directive to perform the work will constitute a variation on our offer price.

We cannot tell you how much construction cost to expect at this time. When we have sufficient
information, we will submit a change order request for an additional cost on top of our offer price.

It was known in our site meeting with your engineers Arnold Petogo and Randy Jimenez, UBI's project
engineer and material engineer, respectively, that your company is not new to supplying admixture for
roadway concreting projects under labor and materials contracts.

In addition, we understand your company's policy of enhancing the quality of work on site even though
the Department of Public Works and Highway does not require you to use additives to attain the
maximum strength required on the 14th day.

Your company's prerogative on this matter for quality work is highly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Engr. Raul M. Diaz
