INTRODUCTION

This report gives the results of air performance-pressure drop tests conducted on a sand
trap louver. The sample was selected and supplied by the client and received at the
laboratories on November 5, 2019. The sample appeared to be in new, unused condition
upon arrival.

TEST METHOD

Leakage and Air Performance-Pressure Drop testing were conducted in accordance with
AMCA Standard 500-L-2015 entitled, “Laboratory Methods of Testing Louvers for Rating”.

Air Performance – Pressure Drop tests were performed with the louver setup per Test
Figure 6.1 “Air performance-pressure drop test”.

Air Volume was measured employing metering stations containing appropriately sized
orifice plates.

DESCRIPTION OF TEST SPECIMEN

ZAMZAM 50cm BY 50cm SAND TRAP LOUVER

The sample consisted of a 50x50 cm sand trap louver. The sample was constructed from
aluminum. The sample measured 19 ¼ inches square at the inlet and 22 ¾ inches square
at the face. The louver had three openings in the face each measuring 2 inches by 20 3/8
inches.

CONCLUSION

The test method employed for this test has no pass-fail criteria; therefore, the evaluation of
