Difference between Sin and Mistake

I JOHN 3:4 - 10
4 ¶ Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression
of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither
known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous,
even as he is righteous.

8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For
this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and
he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever
doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

GALATIANS 6:1
1 ¶ Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an
one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Sin – unbelief, transgression of the law

Mistake – error, to be wrong, a wrong action or statement proceeding from faulty

judgment, inadequate knowledge, or inattention, ( result of careless move or descision)

Note:
You're human, and you're subject to all kinds of mistakes.

I'm just a sinner saved by His grace, subject to all kinds of mistakes and ups and
downs: oh, my, everything wrong with me.

Be merciful unto us, Lord, and remember that we are dust of the earth and we're
subject to all kinds of mistakes. And we pray that You'll forgive us as we humbly
confess our wrongs.
We pray that You forgive us of our short comings, our mistakes, the things that we
have did and said, that was not right. Just remember us, Father, that we are human
and subject to all kinds of mistakes. And if we didn't have Thy promise of Thy
grace, we would all be lost. But it's through Thy grace that we stand today as soldiers,
believing by faith, that God has saved us from a life of sin and from a eternal
punishment in the world hereafter.

82 Now, that's us. Any man, any man is subject to mistakes. He's subject to error
because He's human. He's subject to the violations of God's laws. And he's subject
to many things, because Satan tempts him, and he's just a human being. And if God
ever lifted His hands, he'd fall. That's all.
And I've heard people say, "Oh, Satan can't do that."
Yes, you just let God lift His hand one time and watch what happens. It's a... I constantly
plead, "God, don't--don't send him. Have mercy on me. Keep him away from me."
You see? I--I need God's mercy. And we all need that.

38 You can't sin. Oh, you... I might be a sinner in your sight, but if I'm in Christ,
God don't see it, because his sin's atoned, His Blood atoned for my sins there. See? I
can't sin. "He that's born of God does not commit sin, for he cannot sin. The seed of
God remains in him." See? He--he's willing to, if he makes a mistake, sure he's right
then willing to confess it. If he's a real Christian, he will do it. If he holds it back, he
shows he ain't got nothing in the first place. That's right. He hasn't got nothing to begin
with. But if he's a real Christian...

88 How can you preach predestination of God, foreordaining and setting, unless
there's a sin atonement somewhere? Why is it each day you make a mistake, each
day you do wrong? But if you're borned again, man or woman, as soon as you make
the mistake, God knows you're sorry for it. You can stand in the Presence of--of
President Roosevelt or anybody else and say, "I'm wrong; God forgive me for this
thing." Why? And there's where the Blood atonement...

389-133 Watch. Just let me take this crucifix just a minute if it'll come off of there.
Who was the sin offering? Jesus Christ. How do we get in Christ? Who died for us?
Christ. What did He die for? Our sins. He took my punishment. Is that right? And
then how do I get into Him? By one Spirit we are all baptized into one body. And
when in this body, we're covered by the Blood and free from the judgments. He
cannot sin, because there's a Blood sacrifice laying for him day and night.
Hallelujah. He can't sin. He has no desire to sin. If he does it--if he does do
something wrong, he don't mean to do it. The Bible said in Hebrews the 10th chapter,
"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth (and He is the
Truth), there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin. He that despised Moses' law, died under
two or three witness, how much more sorer punishment suppose, though worthy, who's
trod the Blood of Jesus Christ under his feet and counted the Blood of the covenant
wherewith he was sanctified with an unholy thing, and done despite to the works of
grace."

QUESTIONS.AND.ANSWERS_ JEFF.IN COD SUNDAY_ 59-0628E

390-134 For by one Spirit we are all baptized into one body and are free from sin,
and we cannot sin. There is an Atonement waiting for us. And if there's still desire in
your heart to sin, you have never been baptized into that body, because you are dead and
your life is hid in Christ through God and sealed by the Holy Ghost. Christians don't
sin. They make mistakes, but they don't sin. Amen. That's the reason they don't, for
he cannot sin.

772-131 Now, for instance, if--if one of you brethren would make a mistake and do
something's wrong, which you're subject to do it; I am too, every one of us. But as
we go along, let's remember we're brothers; we are brothers. And if we've got any
fighting, let's fight with one another. Bring it together. Bring it before our brethren and
settle it.

15-6 Now, it was given out that today I was to kinda talk to you a while on "My Life
Story." That's a--a hard thing for me. This will be the first time I have tried to approach it
for many years. And I would not have time to go in details, but just part of it. And in here
I've made many mistakes, done many things that was wrong. And I'll desire, that
you in the radio land and you that are present, that you will not take my mistakes to
be stumbling stones, but steppingstones to bring you closer to the Lord Jesus.

GODHEAD.EXPLAINED_ CHICAGO.IL V-2 N-24 TUESDAY_ 61-0425B

42-1 In my life I made many mistakes. I've done lots of things that's wrong. I'll
probably, if I live much longer, I'll do many more. Perhaps some of them will be
stumbling blocks in your way. I hope that you forgive me.
I was reading of Abraham, how that the flusterations that he had, how that he... My,
the things that he did. He doubted God, and he lied about his wife, and everything.
But when his Divine commentary was written in Romans 4, it never mentioned his
mistakes. But It said, "Abraham never staggered at the unbelief through God, but
was strong." All of his mistakes was all forgotten about when the Divine
commentary of his life was written. His flusterations wasn't even mentioned. His
mistakes wasn't mentioned. Brethren, I hope that when my commentary is read that
day that He'll rub mine out too, and won't think about them. I hope you do too. God
bless you.

GET.THE.PEOPLE.TO.BELIEVE_ HAMMOND.IN THURSDAY_ 52-0717

E-5 May the Lord bless His Word. Now, Elijah was not an Angel; he was a man.
And he had his ups-and-downs, and his troubles like we do. And he had his
passions. The Bible said he was a man with like passions--subject to like passions as
we are. He was just as apt to make a mistake as you are or I am. He's just as apt to
do something wrong as you are or I am.
But he prayed earnestly that it might not rain. And it rained not for the space of
three years and six months. Think of that. God listened to a mortal's prayer. And I
say this with--with all true reverence: there is not another force on earth; there's not
nothing on earth, no matter what it is, what kind of gifts it is; there's nothing in the world
that will come ahead of prayer. Prayer is what does the work.

GOD'S.PROVIDED.WAY_ W.PALM.BEACH.FL TUESDAY_ 53-1201

E-10 Now, a righteous man is not a sinless man. For you notice he said, "Elijah was
a man subject to like passions as we are." He had his ups-and-downs and his
differences. And the Scripture of his life proves that he had his ups-and-downs like
we do. And he had his times of wondering and his times that his temper got away
from him, and he had a lot of things, that went wrong. But he was still a righteous
man, because he confessed his unworthiness and believed in God. So that's what
made him righteous.
We're not righteous within ourselves; we're righteous through Jesus Christ. I
cannot be sanctified within myself; I am sanctified through Jesus Christ Who stands
in the--in the Presence of God in my place. It isn't my holiness; it's His holiness. My
holiness won't work at all, but His does. Because God done accepted Him. And in
accepting Him He had to accept me, because I'm in Him. Amen. That's what makes
it real isn't it. Then we don't have to depend on ourself.
Now, that doesn't make us say we can sin. Brother, if you sin, you're just--you're just
away from God. That's all. There's only one thing to do, is confess it and get right with
God. As long as you desire to sin, the desire of sin's still in your heart, then it's time to
stay down at the altar till that thing's taken out.

Look. God, through His prophet, Isaiah, a man who had his ups-and-downs like we
do, had his mistakes like we do, but God got that man so yielded, by being a
prophet, that his words... God's thoughts (Hallelujah!), God's thoughts expressed
through those mortal lips of Isaiah; a man with sin and things I have, with his ups-
and-downs like I have, and like you have; but a yielded vessel to God, expressed the
thought, God's thought through word. And no matter what they done, Isaiah's
words had to be fulfilled, for it was God's thought expressed through Isaiah.

That's the way God and His Church is. When you're born in the Kingdom of God,
you'll have your ups-and-downs, true, but you're still a Christian; you're still
borned of the Spirit of God. God may have to take you out of the earth early.
