Simple Past Tense

Time Signal :
Yesterday (kemarin)
Last ....... (lalu) example: last week --> minggu lalu
..... ago (lalu) example : two days ago --> dua hari yang lalu
just now (tadi/ baru saja)

Positive Verbal Sentence (kalimat kata kerja positif ):


subject + V2 + object/complement
example :
We visited our family at village last holiday.
(kami mengunjungi keluarga kami di desa liburan lalu)

Negative Verbal Sentence (kalimat kata kerja negatif ):


subject + did not+ V1 + object/complement
example :
I did not come to school yesterday.
(saya tidak datang ke sekolah kemarin)

Interogative Verbal Sentence (kalimat kata kerja


pertanyaan ):
Did + Subject + V1 + Object/ Complement
example:
Did you meet Anna at market just now?
(Apakah kamu bertemu Anna di pasar tadi?
Kenyataanya tidak semua kalimat memiliki kata kerja.
kalimat yang tidak memiliki kata kerja kita sebut
sebagai kalimat nominal. contohnya:
"saya di rumah kemarin." kalimat ini hanya dibentuk
dari subject, keterangan tempat dan keterangan waktu.

Positive Nominal Sentence (kalimat nominal positif ):


subject + was/ were + Complement
note : was digunakan untuk subject tunggal, sedangkan were
digunakan untuk subject jamak / lebih dari 1
contoh:
we were so happy yesterday.
(kami sangat senang kemarin)

Negative Nominal Sentence (kalimat nominal negatif ):


subject + was / were + not+ complement
example :
I was not angry to you last night.
(saya tidak marah padamu kemarin)

Interogative Nominal Sentence (kalimat nominal


pertanyaan):
Was/ Were+ Subject+ Complement
example:
Were you at school just now?
(Apakah kamu di sekolah tadi?)
