INTRODUCTION

ERICH
Erich is a small
Village/hamlet in Bamaur
Block in Jhansi District of
Uttar Pradesh State, India.
It comes under Erich
Panchayath. With a small
population of about 8000
people residing in around
2200 houses. It belongs to
Jhansi Division . It is
located 76 KM towards
East from District head
quarters Jhansi. 256 KM
from State capital
Lucknow.

History
At the time of the Mughal emperor Akbar, Erich turned into
the seat of a sarkar in Agra Subah. It additionally shaped a
constituent mahal of the sarkar. The sarkar of Erich
included all of modern Jhansi district and lots of the former ERICH
Orchha state. The mahal of Erich was primarily in brand
new Jhansi district and also protected components of
what's now Jalaun district and what was Samthar nation.
there are many historic systems in Erich that date from this
era of significance. Its old fortress is of Muslim
construction, built out of in advance Hindu substances, with
a small component close to the river representing the
unique shape. in the citadel is the Jama Masjid, which
become built in 815 AH (1413 CE) by way of Ghazi Zia-ud-Din,
the brother of the jagirdar under Mahmud Shah.

This Masjid is built in 1413 by Ghazi Zia-
ud-Din (Brother of a jagirdar) under the
Last Sulatn of Tughlak Dynesty (grand
son of Firoz shah Tughlak) One century
before in 1313 The centuries old Hindu
rule of Jhansi (which was far larger than
Modern day jhansi) is Ended & it's
conquered by sultan Alauddin khilji &
came under Delhi Sultane.

"For Prohibited area, all the directions have residential buildings with
the Betwa river in the west and few settlements until the river.
For Regulated area, The rest of the directions majorly comprises of
the settlement area.
The monument is visible from most of the directions of the Prohibited
and there is no visibilty from the Regulated area.
The parts of land in the Prohibited Areas are mostly occupied by
some residential and commercial. The Regulated Areas which are
occupied by buildings are mainly under the residential use.

CONSERVATION
This monument has been declared to be of National
Importance under the Ancient Monuments and
Archaeological Sites and Remains Act 1958 as updated by
the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and
Remains (Amendment and Validation) Act.2010.

Further, under sub-section 20(a) and 20(b) of the Ancient


Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains
(Amendment and Validation) Act, 2010 (Read with Gazette
Notification S.O. No. 1764 dated 16.06. 1992 issued under
sub-rule 32 of the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological
Sites and Remains Rules, 1959) areas up to 100 meters
from the protected limits and further beyond it up to 200
meters near or adjoining the protected monument have
been declared to be prohibited and regulated areas,
respectively, for the purpose of both, mining operation
and construction.
SITE RECOMMENDATIONS
The overall site around the Masjid can be developed to provide better
circulation and easy movement

Extensive public awareness programme may be conducted.Provisions for


differently able persons shall be provided as per prescribed standards.The
area shall be declared as Plastic and Polythene free zone.

The front building edge shall strictly follow the existing street line. The
minimum open space requirements need to be achieved with setbacks or
internal courtyards and terraces.

No steps and plinths shall be permitted into the right of way at ground
level beyond the ‘obstruction free’ path of the street.

The streets shall be provided with the ‘obstruction free’ path dimensions
measuring from the present building edge line.
SITE
RECOMMENDATIONS
LED or digital signs, plastic fiber glass or any other highly
reflective synthetic material may not be used for signage in
the heritage area.
Banners may not be permitted; but for special events/fair etc.
it may not be put up for more than three days.
No advertisements in the form of hoardings, bills within the
heritage zone will be permitted.
