 INTRODUCTION AND PREREQUISITES

This Troubleshooting Guide is intendend to provide guidance to technicians in the detection and solving issues of
operation and maintenance of the Saratoga French Fry Vending machine. It may be also useful at first start-up
and installation of the machine.

CAUTION
Before doing troubleshooting make sure that machine is installed correctly, meets all instalation requirements
and it is regulary celaned and maintained. Also machine should be unpacked correctly following the instructions
(after the transport safety laces and plastic protections is necessary to remove and safety screw is necessary to
unscrew). Machine should be installed on a flat surface and protected from direct exposure of weather conditions
(sun, rain, snow, ice ect.) Also, machine should be connected to dedicated 16 A socket (socket should be fused with
C16 fuse breaker). If extension cord is necesary it sould be rated for 16 A, with cord as short as possible, straight
cable without any cable loops. Machine should also have a good internet connection.

IMPORTANT
The prerequisite skills and knowledge required for various role is detailed below. Tehnicians who want to
effectively maintenance and solve problems / errors about Saratoga French Fry Vending machine must be
experianced with the following:

-Instruction manual about machine

- Education / training about operating and maintence of Saratoga French Fry Vending machine
- Knowledge of the work on PC (operating system Win 10)
- Knowledge of working with electricity
- Knowledge of working with mechanical parts
- Knowledge of English language

Problems defined by an error on the PC and Ivend

Every problem that can occur during frying process (in customer mode) is defined by some type and an error
code. The same error will occur on the PC screen (advanced tab in factory settings) and on the Ivend (error
history tab). For example error type xxx (error code yyy). If any error occurs the machine will stop operating –
every operation is automaticly disabled, also in customer mode there will be a note „machine is out of
order“. After solving the error it is necessary to press „machine ready“ in advanced tab to confirm that
machine can continue operate normaly.

Problems that can occur defined by the error and the error code are the following:

1. OUT OF FRIES IN FREEZER (90) – OUT OF FRIES IN NIGHT MODE (96)

2. BIG FRYER ELEVATOR ERROR (33)
3. SMALL FRYER ELEVATOR ERROR (32)
4. CUP TRANSPORT ERROR (31) – CUP TRANSPORT ERROR IN NIGHT MODE (104)

Problem: ź Fridge scale is not loaded

ź Fries are stucked in the fridge

Posibble ź There is no more fries in the freezer

causes: ź Temperture in the fridge is lower than -15
ź „superfrost“ mode is turned on
ź Auger / mixer motor is not working well
ź Fridge scale is not working well
ź Fridge scale / tunel pneumatic valve is not adjusted well
ź Fries are not of recommended dimensions
ź „fry settings“ are not adjusted well

Solution: ź Refill the fries in the freezer

ź Ussing the buttons on the fridge adjust the temperature to -15
ź Ussing the button on the fridge turn off „superfrost“ mode, defrost the fridge and
adjust it to recomended temperature (-15)
ź Check the wiring and connections of the motors – the wiring and connections
of the motors must not be mixed or disconnected
ź Check the wiring and connections of the fridge scale - the wiring and
connections of the fridge scale must not disconnected
ź Check if the scale is clean and recalibrate it
ź Ussing the air pressure regulators adjust properly air pressure of the pneumatic
valves for fridge scale / tunel
ź Use the fries with the recommended dimensions
ź Replace the motor / scale
ź Use the recommended „fry settings“ for fridge scale

Problem: ź Big / small fryer elevator can not move

ź Fryer elevator did not stoped at the right position

Posibble ź Rails are dry

causes: ź Rails are dirty
ź Motor with brake is not working well
ź Chain / rail is damaged
ź Inductive sensor is not adjusted / working well
ź End switch is not adjusted / working well

Solution: ź Wipe and lubricate the rails

ź Check the wiring and connections of the motor with brake / sensor / end switch
– the wiring and connections must not be disconnected or mixed
ź Adjust properly position of the inductive sensor - the range between the sensor
and weight must not be more than 5 mm
ź Adjust properly position of the end switch
ź Replace the motor with brake / inductive sensor / end switch
ź Replace the chain / rail
ź Ussing the air pressure regulators adjust properly air pressure of the pneumatic
valves for slide / exit door

ź Cup dispensor is not adjusted / working well

ź IR sensors are not adjusted / working well
ź Cup transport assembly is not adjusted well
ź Cups are not of recommended dimensions
ź Trash bin is full of trash

Solution: ź Lubricate the rails

ź Wipe and clean up the rails
ź Check the wiring and connections of the motor– the wiring and connections of
the motor must not be disconnected
ź Adjust properly cup dispensor – it must not dispense more than 1 cup at the
time
ź Adjust properly position of the inductive sensor - the range between the
sensor and cup holder must not be more than 5 mm
ź Adjust properly IR sensor
ź Adjust properly position of cup holder
ź Replace the cup dispensor / inductive sensor / IR sensor
ź Use recommended size of cups
ź Empty the trash bin

ź Adjust properly cup dispenser – it must not dispense more than 1 cup at the
time
ź Adjust properly IR sensor
ź Adjust properly position of the cup holder
ź Use recommended size of the cups
ź Replace the cup dispenser / inductive sensor / IR sensor

ź Silicone oil pipe is damaged / clogged
ź Oil pump is not working well
ź „fry settings“ are not adjusted well

Solution: ź Use recommended type of oil

ź Refill the oil in the oil tank
ź The silicone oil pipe needs to be installed in the oil tan
ź Replace the silicone oil pipe
ź Check the wiring and connections of the oil pump – the wiring and
connections of the oil pump must not be disconnected
ź Replace the oil pump
ź Use recommended „fry settings“ for oil dosing

 Overtemperature detected (999)
Temperature sensor abnormal or disconnected (1000)

Problem: ź Tepmerature in oil pans is overheated

Posibble ź Temperature sensor cable is disconnected

causes: ź Heaters are „turned on“ without any oil inside of the oil pans
ź Some of temperature sensors is not working well
ź Heater is not working well
ź Oil pans can not lift up
ź Air pressure is too low - pneumatic compressor is turned off / damaged
ź Pneumatic tubes are damaged / discnonnected

Solution: ź Turn off the heaters (H fuse)

ź Cool down the heaters and refill the oil in the oil pans
ź Check the wiring and connections of the temperature sensors – the wiring
and connections of the temperature sensors must not be disconnected
ź Turn on the pneumatic compressor – it needs to be adjusted to 6 bar
ź Check if the pneumatic tubes are propperly connected – the pneumatic tubes
must not be disconnected or weak connected
ź Replace the heater assembly (with temperature sensors)
ź Replace the pneumatic tubes / pneumatic compressor

Other problems that can occur are not defined by an error on the screen or Ivend. That kind of problems are
categorized as the following:

Solution: ź Ussing the button turn on the fridge

ź Check the wiring and connections of the fridge – the wiring and
connections of the fridge must not be disconnected
ź Check the main fuses – A fuse needs to be turned on
ź Check the main front doors and the pneumatic doors under the fridge – it
needs to be always fully closed
ź Check the wiring and connections of the pneumatic valve for fridge doors –
the wiring and connections of the valve must not be disconnected
ź Check if the pneumatic tubes are propperly connected – the pneumatic
tubes must not be disconnected or weak connected

Air compressor is damaged / not working well

Problem: ź Air pressure is too low

ź Air compressor can not turn on

Posibble ź Air compressor is turned off

causes: ź Pneumatic tubes are damaged / not connected well
ź Air compressor is damaged / not working

Solution: ź Ussing the button turn on the air compressor – it needs to be adjusted to 6
bar
ź Check the wiring and connections of the air compressor – the wiring and
connections of the air compressor must not be disconnected
ź Check the main fuses – A fuse needs to be turned on
ź Check if the pneumatic tubes are propperly connected – the pneumatic
tubes must not be disconnected or weak connected
ź Refill / change the oil of the air compressor
ź Clean up the air compressor and empty the waste oil cup

 Air filter fan is damaged / not working well

Solution: ź Wipe and clean up the air filter fan

ź Check the wiring and connections of the air filter fan – the wiring and
connections of the air filter fan must not be disconnected
ź Check if the condensate pipes are propperly connected to the air filter fan –
condensate pipes must not be disconnected or weak connected
ź Check the main fuses – E fuse needs to be turned on
ź Replace the carbon air filter / air filter fan

220 V air fan is damaged / not working well

Solution: ź Wipe and clenan up the 220 V air fan

ź Check the wiring and connections of the 220 V air fan – the wiring and

ź Check the main fuses – H fuse needs to be turned on

ź Check the wiring and connections of the electronic locks – the wiring and
connections of the electronic locks must not be disconnected
ź Check the main fuses / battery – E fuse must be turned on and battery must
be connected
ź Replace the electronic locks / battery

PC touch is damaged / not working well

Problem: ź PC touch is working slow

ź PC touch is freezed
ź PC touch can not turn on

Posibble ź PC touch is exposed directly to sun, rain, snow ect.

causes: ź Ethernet signal is too weak
ź PC touch is damaged / not working

Solution: ź Ussing the buttons reset the PC touch

ź Check the wiring and connections of the PC touch – the wiring and
connections of the PC touch must not be disconnected
ź Check the main fuses – E fuse needs to be turned on
ź Protect the PC touch – PC touch must not be exposed directly to sun, rain,
snow ect.
ź Check the Ethernet connections – PC touch must be connected to good
Ethernet connection
ź Replace the PC touch

 Com2 is denied

Posibble ź Application konzola2 started up multiple times at the once

causes: ź Some other application is connected to the com2
ź Com2 is not working properly

Solution: ź Exit application (only one window of application must be opened at once -
close every other)
ź Exit and disconnect every application that is connected to the com2 (only
application konzola2 must be connected to the com2)
ź Reset PC
ź Replace PC

Front door led stripe is not working

causes: ź Power supply 24 V is not working

and connections of the power supply 24 V must not be disconnected or
weak connected
ź Check the main fuses – E fuse needs to be turned on

ź Ussing the screw install properly wooden forks magazine – wooden fork
magazine must be fixed
ź Use the wooden forks with the recommended dimensions

Solution: ź Refill the salt

ź Check if the pneumatic tubes are propperly connected – the pneumatic
tubes must not be disconnected or weak connected
ź Ussing the air pressure regulators adjust properly air pressure of the
pneumatic valve for salting
ź Use recommended „fry settings“ for salt dosing
ź Check the wiring and connections of the salting motor – the wiring and
connections of the salting motor must not be disconnected
ź Connect properly salting plastic tube with salting unit and cup transport
ź Use the recommended type of salt
ź Replace the salting unit / pneumatic tube

pneumatic valve for sauce
ź Clean up sauce dispensor
ź Use the recommended type of sauce
ź Replace the sauce dispensor / pneumatic tube

ź Cup transport assembly is not adjusted well

Solution: ź Use recommended type of fries

ź Use recommended „fry settings“ for weight of the portion
ź Check the wiring and connections of the buffer scale – the wiring and
connections of the buffer scale must not be disconnected
ź Recalibrate / replace the buffer scale
ź Ussing the screws adjust properly cup transport assembly

 Oil filtration is not working well

causes: ź Silicone oil pipe is damaged / clogged
ź Silicone oil pipe is not installed the oil tank

Solution: ź Check the wiring and connections of the oil pump – the wiring and
connections of the oil pump must not be disconnected
ź Replace the oil filter / silicon pipe / oil pump
ź The silicone oil pipe needs to be installed in the oil tank

Bottom of the machine is always oily

Problem: ź The bottom of the machine is oily / dirty

Posibble ź Silicone oil pipe is not installed in the inox oil tank / plastic waste oil tank
causes: ź Silicone oil pipe is damaged
ź Oil pump is damaged / not working well

Solution: ź The silicone oil pipe needs to be installed in the inox / plastic oil tank
ź Replace the silicon pipe / oil pump
