Objective: To state an opinion


about one specific

INSTRUCTIONS
PART 1
• In groups of 3-5, think of some of the most important and popular
technological innovations. For example: the Global Positioning System
(GPS), the laser, quantum computing, internet, etc.

• Choose the technological innovation you would like to talk about and become
an expert on. Carry out some online research about the innovation. You can
use the following chart to prepare your panel:

PART 2
• Prepare the plot of your expert panel: introduction (panel and experts),
questions, positions and closure.

• Decide the roles:


1 panel host (this person will be in charge of conducting the panel. He or
she introduces the panel and the experts. At the end, the panel host offers
some feedback and conclusions).
2-4 experts (experts will be in charge of answering the host’s questions
and predicting the future of the technological innovation and its impact on
humankind).

• Practice pronunciation and fluency.


INSTRUCTIONS
PART 3
• With your group, record a 2 to 3-minute video presenting the expert panel. ALL
THE MEMBERS OF THE GROUP MUST SPEAK AND APPEAR IN THE
VIDEO.

• Edit your video including sound effects, photographs, and/or any other element
to make your video interesting and eye-catching.

• Post your video on YouTube and share the link on “Term 1” – “FIRST TERM
PROJECT – IN GROUPS”. You can also upload the video directly to the
platform.

• The name of every student must appear during the video when speaking.

• Upload your video BEFORE March 19th, 2022.


CONDITIONS
• All members of the group must speak and appear in
the video.

• Students’ names must appear when speaking.

• Reading is penalized (-10 points). Practice with your


group before making the video.

• Pronunciation must be clear.

• Your project must reflect the language target and


objectives described at the beginning of this
document.

• Creativity is a MUST.
