IV ANSWER IN SHORT:
1. In 1719, Jai Singh launched a project of building observatories in Delhi, Mathura,
Benares, Ujjain and Amber. These were built to predict astronomical events like
solar and lunar eclipses. His observations were remarkably accurate, the
techniques and even superior to those used by the European astronomers.
The observatory was named as Jantar Mantar.

a state or country is governed. A constitution gives certain powers to the government,
while also indicating the limits of those powers. In addition, the process of law making
and the rights and duties of the citizens are laid out clearly. Therefore the Constitution
forms the basic guidelines for the functioning of any democracy.
