Translating a Person I know into a viable character

There are people in our social lives whose natural traits can perfectly fit an admirable

character in a film. The objective of this paper is to build or translate the personal character into

a viable film character. I opt to analyze my little sister’s behavior who's every bit of life is like an

episode in a movie. She is very extroverted; her social life is characterized by a high outgoing

rate and exceptional confidence. She is easily influenced to join social places and doesn’t like to

spend time alone at all; she loves company. She is not easy to trust until she lay her eyes on the

subject in discussion. It is not enough for you to manage her trust simply by describing

something to provide an idea of what it is.

She has proficiency in decision-making by seeking relevant information, analyzing it, and

making a conclusion. She has mastered the art of hiding her emotions when hurt or exited

perhaps because she understands the impact of emotions triggered decision making.

Interestingly, although she is easily influenced by friends to go out she has high planning

tendency and follows friends exclusively in her free time. Moreover, she has a commendable

motivation to get things done not only to have the task complete but also to achieve exemplary

results at the end.

I once thought that she had an emotional problem that gives her the character of a person

who is never influenced by emotions. Rarely does she react emotionally to issues; as such

discussing emotional issues with her is a rare phenomenon. She is always up for logical

discussions to gain sensible insight on issues. My sister has interesting behavioral quirks. She is

highly attracted to old people and granny than her age mates. She also has a low attitude on

education, she believes that discoveries that have been made are sufficient to run the world

progressively for centuries and they only require being exploited. Lastly, she has focused on

talent and claims what one can do perfectly differently is the only way out.

At her younger age, she had some feeling that all she needs to be a significant person in

the future is herself and her input. She manifested a sense of self-reliance at her tender age. In

her early life, she faced a violent attack from her schoolmates courtesy of racial profiling and

discrimination. She developed a hate for the people of the race that discriminated against her.

These are the common criteria that she uses to differentiate on how she handles people. You

cannot differentiate how she handles friends or strangers since she interacts freely but maintains

her less talkative trait.

Her preference to interact, with older people, is triggered by her belief that they are an

important source of wisdom, unlike the young generations. This has helped her to make her

conflict resolution behavior solid and based on logical decisions instead of emotions. When she

finds herself in a fallout due to conflict, she has the tendency of apologizing if she is wrong and

also forgiving if she is offended; she has an easy mind. Interestingly, she has mastered the art of

self-reliance and she rarely depends on others unless the situation is forcing it.

In conclusion, my sister's character has a high resemblance to that of Olive in the Little

Sunshine film especially as far as interacting with old, dependency behavior, and being logical.

However if she is given a chance to play the role of Olive in the film, she will be forced to adjust

her emotional behavior and at times demonstrate fear, nervousness, courage, and not a neutral

state of emotions throughout. Un-doubtfully, if assigned a role to write a movie, I will write her

natural behaviors as a character.
