INTRODUCTION TO MOOT COURT

Moot court is basically a replica of a real court where


legal proceedings and trials take place and thus it is also
known as Mock Court where students who are studying
law act as professionals and take up all the
responsibilities and duties according to their role to see
their ability to think creatively and answer. Moot court is
one such activity which helps students of law to become
a good professional.
In a moot court, hypothetical cases are argued, usually as
an academic for students.
Moot court involves simultaneous simulated proceedings
before an appellate court, arbitral tribunal, or
international dispute resolution body.
Moot Court does not involve actual testimony by
witnesses, cross-examination, or the presentation of
evidence but it is focused solely on the applications,
facts, clarifications, corrections to which the competitors
are introduced. Moot court is one of the key extra-
curricular activities in many law schools. It includes
research, written submission, memorials and another with
oral arguments.
