The format of an article for Societal Impacts is different from a traditional research article.
Societal Impacts publishes short, original communications of no more than 2000 words in
length.
We ask that the first section describe the social impact that is produced, examined, or
projected; that the methodology for producing, analyzing or predicting social impact is
explained, and the results and implications described for a diverse audience.
Societal Impacts was designed for authors to be able to explain work that has been done or
is ongoing, in short communications. Providing a link or reference to a more complete
description of the work, (such as a standard scientific report or a dataset of results), is highly
recommended.
Authors need to submit the manuscript and a completed version of the template below as
separate files. We will only consider manuscripts submitted which include this template as a
separate document, supplementing the article.
Please consult the Societal Impacts Guide for Authors and the Submission Guidelines when
preparing your manuscript; they highlight mandatory requirements and they are packed with useful
advice.
Now you are ready to fill in the template below. As you complete each section, please carefully read
the associated instructions. All sections are mandatory unless marked otherwise.
Please fill in the template below and delete all instructional text in italics.
If you have any questions, please contact the journal at socimp@elsevier.com
Title Please avoid acronyms and abbreviations where possible. Where your
article supports an original research article, the title should differ from
the title used in your research paper.
