1 Product Description

1.1 Product Overview

The base station 5 (BS5) is a component of OpenScape Cordless Enterprise V7.0. Details on these
products can be found in the relevant product documentation.

1.2 Description of Features*

With its uniform hardware, the BS5 replaces the BS4.
As a result, physical changes are not required when upgrading from BS4 to BS5.
The BS5 features scope corresponds to that of BS4.
Special antennas can thus also be used for smaller configurations.
The BS5 supports output power attenuation for adapting to critical illumination situations.

1.3 Customer Prerequisites and Basic Functional Conditions

On systems with SLC24/SLMC and Cordless Enterprise V7.0 where no phase-out has been announced.

The new base station BS5+ (S30807-U5497-X20) replaces the current BS5 (S30807-U5497-X10).
BS5+ is optical and functional completely equivalent to BS5.

For operation with OpenScape Cordless Enterprise the following SW version V7 V7R1.15.0 (SLC24
CV040, SLMC CV721) is needed.

1.4 Services
The HiPath Cordless services are not changed by the BS5.

1.5 Positioning

1.5.1 Positioning in Relation to Similar Products from the Unify Product Portfolio*
The BS5 is the successor product to the BS4 with the same connection requirements. The BS4 will be
phased out separately.

1.5.2 Differences Compared with Previous Products

The BS5 incorporates full BS4 functionality. The housing is very similar to that of BS4.

1.6 Customer Benefits

Lower expansion costs when increasing the number of ports, a finer degree of price staggering through
licensing.

3 Prices and Commercial Handling

As a customer of Unify, you can obtain further information on this from your country-specific Unify organization.

3.1 Export Regulations

Certain products in our sales program are subject to the regulations governing export permits required under
EU/German/US law [in accordance with the Export List (AL) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)]
At the time of an offer/bid or order confirmation, you cannot be sure that
 the required export/re-export license will be granted in every case,
 the validation of existing export/re-export licenses covers delivery times that can arise from
unexpected delays.
If, therefore, you are aware or if you may assume that what you are supplying to your customer is intended for
export or re-export – including indirect export and transactions with dealers – you must ensure that the following
reservation is included in your quotation, order confirmation or contract, as the case may be:
"This offer (this contract/this order acknowledgement) and the fulfillment of the contract are subject to the proviso
that the requisite export licenses are issued and that this is not prevented by other impediments arising due to
German or other export regulations."
