TRUE NEWS FOR OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

TRUST IN GOD
Read the topic General Hygiene in the book the Ministry of Healing.
Read 2nd Kings chapter 18 and 19.

Read Proverbs 3:5-6, 14:30, Philippians 4:8

Faith is a mightier conqueror than death. If the sick can be led to fix their eyes upon the great
physician, we shall witness wonderful results. Trust in divine power offers peace and assurance.
When we are in tune with the requirements of the Decalogue and the provisions of the new
covenant, we can rest assured that we will have health. Whenever, we exhibit lack of trust in God
by being fearful, angry, frustrated, envious, and guilty, the brain produces hormones that cause
toxic reaction in the entire system. That affects cell metabolism. This is why it is important to
think positive and rest in the hope that Christ has given us. None of us can add a cubit to our
height by for instance worrying. We are not to express our sorrows to our fellow men, we should
rather than think of the discouraging circumstances, we are to direct our thoughts to the love of
God. Jesus intercedes for us in the sanctuary of the new covenant in heaven. We are to believe
that we are benefited by the Savior's mediation. He is willing to succor them that come to God by
Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for us. Christ values those who wholly live for
Him. He will not suffer us to remain alone. Lets cling to the promises, and ever keep in mind His
willingness to bless us. He does not forget us for one moment. We are to trust in Him. His love
encircles us. Lets think faith, love, goodness and rest in the love Christ is willing to give us.
What we think, we often act upon. If we are harboring jealousy, distrust, murmuring, envy,
resentment, complaining, suspicion or anger our feelings will be dark and gloomy. Such feelings
will adversely affect the glands, the blood, liver, heart and all the organs of the body including
the systems.

Read Psalms 18:2

Stress is very detrimental to the maintenance of a healthy immunity. Because of stress, life
threatening conditions can affect you. Conditions such as heart attack, stroke or other deadly
illnesses. When one is stressed, their immune system will not have the ability to fight infection.

Read 2nd Kings chapter 18. The war that was imminent, is analogical to the immune system, it
was only Godly trust that earned Judah’s victory.

Read 2nd Kings chapter 18:5

King Hezekiah knew that on their own, they were powerless and could not overcome the enemy.
They were like a compromised immune system, one that had no strength to fight foreign invasion
by itself. But the Apostle Paul gives us hope in the following scripture. 2nd Corinthians 12:10

God knew that Judah had no capacity to overcome the foreign invasion so He inspired a the
prophet Isaiah to awaken trust in divine power and spoke saying…. Read 2nd Kings 19:5-7.

Hezekiah’s prayer Read 2nd Kings 19:14-19.

God’s response Read 2nd Kings 19:20-21.

This message inspired king Hezekiah and all Judah to exercise trust and worship God.
Notwithstanding the fact that they were not to fight physically, they were to participate by
honoring Jehovah through praise and worship. King Hezekiah inspired a Nation that was under
siege to place their trust in Divine power and because of that, God fought for them. 2nd Kings
20:19-24. Consequently, the Angel of the Lord killed hundred and eighty five thousand
(185’000) Assyrian troops overnight.

Is your immune system under siege and you have lost trust in God? Read the story of Hezekiah
and how his trust in God helped a nation survive the attack of the super power of that day. God,
can through the means He has provided, if we Trust Him, help us fight imminent attacks to our
immune system.

Note: The battle was worn by an abiding trust in God. Even though Judah were outnumbered and
were the underdogs, through their trust in God, they emerged victorious. This story is analogical
to our immune system.

REST
Memory work
Isaiah 30:15

Reading Assignment;
2nd Samuel chapter 7

It is during rest that the building up of the body takes place. Sleep should be regular and
abundant. In mercy, God provided us with sleep. The stomach also needs rest. But physical rest
is not the only type of rest that is needed. In our world of sin, countless people are weary, they
are distressed and perplexed. They are burdened with sin and remorse. The state they are in
leaves them stressed and wearied, the life forces have been depleted.
Exodus 33:14
Matthew 11:28

In addition to the above scriptures that you have read, try to comprehend the importance of rest
by taking note of the mission David had to unite the kingdom of Israel and subdue the enemies of
God's people. The following chapter; 2nd Samuel 7, gives us a glimpse of what happened after
David took over as King and God had given the Nation Rest. Prior to David becoming King, we
read in the book of 1st Samuel 15, Saul had disobeyed God by sparing Agag and Amalek.
Unfortunately Amalek was ever an enemy of Israel. When David was transitioning to become
King, we read in 1st Samuel chapter 30 how Amalek burned the city of Ziklag, and carried the
women and children captive and got spoils. David inquired of the Lord if he should fight Amalek
and God gave him a go ahead. In the process of pursuing Amalek, some of David’s men became
tired and could not proceed, they could not help protect and redeem that which was lost, they
needed to Rest if they could once more have what it takes to fight for Ziklag .David and the rest
of his men pursued Amalek and destroyed them and recovered everything that had been lost.
Note: The city of Ziklag is analogous to an immune system that was attacked by foreign
substances, Amalek. The immune system was distressed. For the immune system to have rest,
David and his men, needed to fight the invasion of Amalek. We learn from the scriptures that
God eventually gave David and Israel rest from their enemies.
2nd Samuel chapter 7:4-11 Consider verse 11. God is talking about the Rest that He will give to
David and Israel. And we read in this very chapter, that God told David that since He had now
given them Rest, He would build a house for David and God would raise up a son unto David
who would build the Temple.

Note: It was when God gave them rest that they were able to build the Temple. Consider 1st
kings 9:1-3. When the Temple was finally built, that is when Israel was at Rest, then God made a
promise to Solomon that He would honor the Temple with His presence.1st Corinthians 3:16. So
it was when Israel, the immune system was at Rest from enemies such as Amalek that the
Temple, was built. Our bodies are made up of cells whose building process takes place when we
are at Rest. Rest is very important. Solomon was only able to build the Temple when at rest. This
is what happens in our physical bodies, they repair themselves when they are at rest, and we
make their work a whole lot easier if we remove the foreign substances (Amalek) from the body.

Many biological processes happen during sleep for instance. The brain stores new information
and gets rid of toxic waste. Nerve cells communicate and reorganize, which supports healthy
brain function. The body repairs cells, restores energy, and releases molecule like hormones and
proteins. Without rest, the muscles, joints, and other important structures do not have adequate
time to repair themselves. Rest reduces stress and anxiety. It also improves the mood and
decreases blood pressure consequently improving immune system health.

UNPOLUTED OPEN AIR

Read Daniel 10:17

Read the Ministry of Healing p. 274. The topic on General Hygiene

The health of the entire system depends upon the healthy action of the respiratory organs. In
order to have good blood, we must breath well. The lungs in order to be healthy must have pure,
fresh air. Air must be in constant circulation to be kept pure. The influence of fresh air is to cause
the blood to circulate well through the system. Its influences is additionally felt on the mind,
imparting a degree of composure and serenity. It also excites the appetite and improves digestion
thus strengthening the immune system. The immune system needs oxygen to fight its battles
against germs. When oxygen is inadequate, the body will be home to an environment that will
encourage cancerous cells. The immune system will be inhibited from combating those cells.

Essentially cancer is caused by a compromised immune system. Potentially cancerous cells are
always present in the human body, yet the actual incidence of cancer is prevented when our
immune system is strong and efficient enough to engulf these cells.
Air is important for life to survive. For food to be converted to energy, you need oxygen.
Without air, humans would not be able to survive for long.
Other conditions that result from low levels of oxygen in the blood include Hypoxemia whose
symptoms include headache, difficulty breathing, rapid heart rate and bluish skin. Many heart
and lung conditions lead to Hypoxemia. Hypoxemia can be life threatening. Another condition is
Hypoxia, which is low levels of oxygen in your body tissues. It causes symptoms like confusion,
restlessness, difficulty breathing, and rapid heart rate. When you breath, you take oxygen into
your lungs, where it travels through the airways out into small sacks called alveoli. From there, it
gets picked up by the blood out to the other tissues. If oxygen is inadequate, it can lead to this
life threatening condition.

Hypoxemia can result from the inability of your blood not having enough Oxygen. Air and blood
flow are both important to having enough oxygen in your blood. This is why lung disease and
heart disease increase your risk of hypoxemia. Air is important to human life. In Ezekiel 37, we
read how God gave a vision to Ezekiel of the dead dry bones in the valley. God asked him if
those bones could live again, he was commanded to prophecy to the dead bones. After God
caused His breath to come upon them, they were revived and became an exceeding great army.
Read John 20 vs 22. When the disciples were breathed on, they received the Holy Spirit and
where enabled to preach with power from on high. They were made alive, they were energized
by the breath, the spirit of Christ. The 144,000 will also receive the same impartation but in
greater measure and will proclaim the everlasting gospel with zeal that can not be matched.
They will move from place to place proclaiming together with the third angel, “Here is the
patience of the saints, here are they that keep the commandments of God and have the faith of
Jesus.” Revelation 14:12. Without the Spirit, the soul is dead, without air, man will not survive.

EXERCISE
Read Isaiah 40:31
Exercise is important for us because it quickens and equalizes the circulation of the blood. In
Idleness the blood does not circulate freely, and the changes in it, so necessary to life and health,
do not take place. Man was created to be active. When we exercise, our immune system is
strengthened by having more white blood cells which are the soldiers that fight infection.
Metabolism is also greatly aided by Exercise and wastes are gotten rid of. The skin is becomes
healthy and effective and the lungs become efficient. If we do not exercise, we will end up being
ill and our limbs will greatly be affected.

“Inactivity weakens the system. God made men and women to be active and useful. Nothing can
increase the strength of the young like proper exercise of all the muscles in useful labor.” The
Health Reformer February 2, 1871, paragraph 6.

Exercise helps strengthen the immune system by increasing the infection fighting white blood
cells; it also speeds up metabolism, which assists nature in eliminating waste.
The Bible encourages deep respect for our body and the gift of life. Some two thousand years
ago, God inspired the apostle Paul to write: “Bodily training is beneficial for a little; but Godly
devotion is beneficial for all things, as it holds promise of the life now and that which is to
come.” 1st Timothy 4:8. While Paul is encouraging us to have a personal relationship with God as
it is of utmost importance, he explains to us that exercise is beneficial. The healthier we are, the
more active we can be in manifesting love for God and our neighbors. Exercise is vital for good
health.

Exercise facilitates the flushing of bacteria out of the lungs and airways. This reduces chances of
getting a cold, flue or other illnesses. Exercise causes change in antibodies and white blood cells.
The White blood cells are the body’s immune system cells that fight disease. Exercise
strengthens your heart and improves the circulation. The improved blood flow raises the oxygen
levels in your body. This helps lower the risk of heart diseases such as high cholesterol, coronary
artery disease, and heart attack. Regular exercise can also lower blood pressure.

NUTRITION.
Read 1st Samuel 28:22

Read 2nd Kings 25:2-5

During the time of the famine in Judah, bread was not sufficient. This state of events led to a
scenario of the army being broken down and the city becoming vulnerable. The enemy forces
marched and overthrew the city of Jerusalem and took over the reigns of government.

When our bodies are deprived of adequate nourishment, our immune army the T-cells find
themselves unable to defend us from enemy invaders, and eventually the body is overcome by
disease. The food that we eat can either assist the immune system in its fight or hinder it. We, by
our food choices, determine our destiny.

EVER TEMPERANTE
Memory work;
Mark 3:27
Proverbs 23:2

The Bible has a sad story of one of the kings of Israel, Elah. He was the fourth king of the
kingdom of Israel, the son and successor of Baasha. The Bible tells us, his reign was short, just
two years and he didn’t’t do anything worth mentioning in his short reign. King Elah’s death
was fast and sudden. He left his palace and went into the house of his palace administrator who
was called Arza. There king Elah was entertained such as was befitting a king, and he drunk
alcohol till he was drunk. Then in such an opportune time, Zimri one of the army generals,
pounced on him and killed him. King Elah did not die alone, Zimri proceeded to kill all the
relatives of king Elah. From this sad ending of Elah, we can see how the consumption of alcohol
and getting drunk can easily make a person vulnerable to his enemies. Though many other kings
were assassinated during their reign, it appears king Elah, in particular, made himself an easy
target to kill by getting drunk.
Read 1st kings 16:8-10
We see how Elah’s drunkenness made him a vulnerable prey for Zimri. In the spiritual realm,
intemperance lays the foundation for the destruction of the white blood cells which performs the
exalted task of destroying foreign invaders.

WATER
Read Jeremiah 50:38 Nuhum 3:14

The tunnel of Siloam also known as Hezekiah's Tunnel is a water tunnel that was carved within
the City of David in ancient times, now located in the Arab neighborhood of Silwan in
eastern Jerusalem. Its popular name is due to the most common hypothesis that it dates from the
reign of Hezekiah of Judah (late 8th and early 7th century BC) and corresponds to the "conduit"
mentioned in 2 Kings 20:20 in the Bible. According to the Bible, King Hezekiah prepared
Jerusalem for an impending siege by the Assyrians, by "blocking the source of the waters of
the upper Gihon, and leading them straight down on the west to the City of David" (2 Chronicles
32:30). By diverting the waters of the Gihon, he prevented the enemy forces
under Sennacherib from having access to water.
Support for the dating to Hezekiah's period is derived from the Biblical text that describes
construction of a tunnel.
The tunnel leads from the Gihon Spring to the Pool of Siloam. It is believed to have been built
under Hezekiah, and dates to a time when Jerusalem was preparing for an impending siege by
the Assyrians, led by Sennacherib. Since the Gihon Spring was already protected by a massive
tower and was included in the city's defensive wall system, Jerusalem seems to have been
supplied with enough water in case of siege even without this tunnel, the tunnel can be
interpreted as an additional aqueduct designed for keeping the entire outflow of the spring inside
the walled area, which included the downstream Pool of Siloam, with the specific purpose of
withholding water from any besieging forces. Both the spring itself, and the pool at the end of
the tunnel, would have been used by the inhabitants as water sources. Troops positioned outside
the walls wouldn't have reached any of it, because even the overflow water released from the
Pool of Siloam would have fully disappeared into a karstic system located right outside the
southern tip of the city walls. In contrast to that, the previous water system did release all the
water not used by the city population into the Kidron Valley to the east, where besieging troops
could have taken advantage of it.
The curving tunnel is 583 yards (533 m; about 1⁄3 mile) long and by using the 12 inch
(30 cm) altitude difference between its two ends, which corresponds to a 0.06 percent gradient,
the engineers managed to convey the water from the spring to the pool. In keeping with our
physical/ spiritual analogies, we can liken Judah to a strong immune system that would dry up
due to lack of water. If her water supply were sabotaged by the armies of Sennacherib, Judah
would have is easily been overthrown, and her soldiers analogous to the white blood cells of the
immune system would have been unable to fight for their kingdom, and their doom would have
been certain. Hezekiah knew the secret to protecting his kingdom-Water. We too should know
the secret to good health. It is water. If the body has not received enough water, the blood
becomes thick and the circulation becomes sluggish and toxins build up. All cells, including
white blood cells depend upon water to survive, and use water as a liquid medium of transport
and oxygen supply. Water keeps the body cool as part of the body’s temperature regulating
system. It also cushions your joints, and protects your tissues and organs from shock and
damage. It lubricates the joints, mouth and digestive system in saliva, and in your nose, throat,
eyes, and stomach as part of mucus. Water aids in digestion and absorption of food, as well as in
removal of wastes from your body. Water also helps you maintain a healthy weight. It is
important to drink at least 8-10 cups of water a day for a health body.

SUNSHINE
Memorize Psalms 27:1
Read Ministry of Healing p. 276 Sub topic “Cleanliness”
Read Malachi 4:2

Joshua 10: “The spake Joshua to the Lord in the day when the Lord delivered up the Amorites
before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun stand thou, Moon, in the
valley of Ajalon.”

The Bible records the story of the war between Israel and the Amorites. The battle had raged on
and the enemies where enumerable, Israel needed God to intervene by making the sun stand still
so that enough time would enable God’s army to wipe out the enemy. The enemy forces, the
Amorites analogous of the diseases that threaten the immune system, which is the land God had
promised Israel needed to be met unflinchingly by God’s army. God’s army analogous of the T
cells needed the aid of the Sun in overcoming the enemy. Throughout scripture, Christ is referred
to as the Sun. He is the Sun of righteousness and the shield of His people who really fought in
behalf of His army. T cells, the soldiers of the immune system, need to move to do their work,
which is to get to the site of an infection and orchestrate a response. Sunlight directly activates
key immune cells by increasing their movement. What drives the motility response in T cells is
synthesis of hydrogen peroxide, which activates a signaling path way that increases T cell
movement. Hydrogen peroxide is a compound that white blood cells release when they sense an
infection in order to kill bacteria and to call T cells to mount an immune response.

Sunlight improves your sleep and reduces stress. Because it improves the immune system, it
protects the system against cancer and helps the heart to be in a good condition. It also invokes
the happy hormone serotonin thereby cheering you up. It also stimulates the liver and increases
its ability to deal with toxins and therefore mitigates the work load of the immune system. Being
in the sun also enables the skin to produce hormones that help reduce pain. Lack of exposure to
sunlight can cause depression and disease. Sunlight has a stimulating effect on the immune
system-it increases the oxygen supply to the skin and has an effect similar to that of exercise, as
it speeds up Metabolism. Sunlight also stimulates the liver, which increases its ability to deal
with toxins.
