To be able to talk about places using prepositions

Prepositions
Prepositions are words that show the relationship between a noun or pronoun and other words in a
sentence. They are usually placed before the noun or pronoun and can indicate location, time, direction,
manner, or other relationships.
In prepositions of place we have:

Across From one side to the other side of something, e.g: We took the boat across the river.
Beside/next to Next to something/somebody, e.g: I kept your books on the table next to the
computer.
In front of Close to the front of something or someone, e.g: The car is in front of the building.
Near Means 'not far away in distance' , e.g: I live near the river.
Call me back near the end of September.
Opposite Someone or something that is in the opposite direction of you. e.g: Ahmed is sitting in
the opposite direction of mine on the bus.
Khadija lives in the opposite house of ours.
Outside To not be in a particular place, but near it. e.g: He was sitting at a table outside the
café.
I was just asked to wait outside the door.
Through To talk about movement from one side to another but ‘in something’ e.g: We walked
through the forest to get to the other side.

Practice:

Look at the places in the map and create sentences using the prepositions above.
