“THE LIST AND TOTAL NUMBER OF BOYS AND GIRLS OF GRADE 8-

RAFFLESIA GOT HIGH AND LOWEST GRADES IN MATHEMATICS DURING
THE FIRST QUARTER”

INTRODUCTION
Mathematics is generally considered as the most Important subject at school levels all over
the world. All the Major commissions and committee report on education since Independence
emphasized the importance of mathematical Knowledge and its utilitarian values. In spite of
all these Reports and recommendation still in the Philippines, many Students struggle with
mathematics and become disaffected As they constantly bump in two obstacles to
engagement. It Is an agreeable fact that, amongst the subject taught in Schools, mathematics
is considered as one of the toughest Subjects. But the reason behind this might be different in
Different situations. Lot more studies were conducted in this Area and researches come up
with their recommendations as Well. But still, the problem of low performance in
Mathematics appears to be pertinent in all levels of school Education. This is a serious issue
to be tackled possibly by The teachers concerned and even the Department of Education.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT
The instrument for data collection was the letter of Permission. The researcher personally
gathered a data in the adviser of Grade 8 – Rafflesia to borrow the first quarter grades of
student in Mathematics subject.

RESULT

CONCLUSION
From the result of this study, it is concluded that students who have a good study in
Mathematics subject performed significantly better than students with no self esteem in terms
of mathematics achievement. With these we can conclude that study is a predictor of students
achievement in mathematics. The reason students by why they are not doing well in
mathematics is because of ineffective study. And that for a student to do well in the subject
he/she must use an appropriate method for studying the subject Mathematics.
It is also concluded that boys and girls that have a good study habits do not differ
significantly in mathematics subject. In the study I discovered that most of the students of
Grade 8 – Rafflesia have a good study in Mathematics subject despite that their are different
subjects that they are studying also.
