ii. Summary of the book
Characters:
- Greg Heffley
- Rodrick Heffley
- Rowley
 Diary Of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules starts of with Greg telling the reader his
daily miserable school life, from his terrifying swimming experience, his
troubles with bullies and how everyone in school is berating him for having
the “cheese touch,” The cheese touch is a legendary cheese that falls from an
unknown student’s sandwich, for some reason no one dares to pick it up,
forcing it to rot, for some reason someday a student decided to touch the
cheese out of curiosity and because of that all student would avoid the student
in disgust, the only way you can get rid of the touch is for you to pass it on
another, and Greg happens to be passed the cheese touch. The story does not
only revolve around Greg’s school life and the cheese touch, the story focuses
more on the Heffley family that tries to encourage Rodrick, Greg’s older
brother to be more loving. Plenty of things happen, the both of them tried to
connect with one another but a massive party that the both of them throw
while the parents are out of town threw them into a loop to maintain the
secrecy, for once the brother is working together like brothers for their future,
not getting scolded by their parents. Through trial and error, the both brothers
finally are able to work together and although they’re not the model brothers
that parents would want, their progression to be a much more closer sibling
warms the heart. The main plot is interesting enough, but the story is also
filled with side plots involving Greg struggle in navigating school life, his
