All official transcripts and other required documentation must be received by the first day of class of the semester in which you start
your program at the University of Guelph (see schedule of dates in the graduate calendar for the date corresponding with the first day
of classes). Applicants who fail to meet the conditions of their offer of admission as noted above will normally not be permitted to
register for classes for the semester in which they have applied and are admitted. Their offer of admission will normally be rescinded
and the applicant will be encouraged to apply to a future semester. For students who are in the process of completing their degree at
the University of Guelph, or have completed a degree at the University of Guelph, the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
will obtain your final official transcript on your behalf.

Student ID Card
The University of Guelph requires proof of identity and citizenship before releasing student ID cards. Please carefully review the
criteria to obtain your student ID card. Please visit the Campus Card Office website for information on how to obtain your University
of Guelph student campus card. In addition, international students are required to submit a valid study permit and passport. Failure to
comply with this requirement may result in your inability to register for current or future semesters.

Program Funding

Academic Integrity
Effective Winter 2013, all students registering for the first time at University of Guelph must successfully complete UNIV*7100
Academic Integrity for Graduate Students course within the first 20 days of the semester. Students will be registered automatically by
the Office of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies and will be able to access the UNIV*7100 course on the first day of classes. Please visit

Offer of Admission and Your Decision

Any additional courses currently in progress or completed post application/offer must be declared to the Office of Graduate &

remains open) by the 1st class day of the semester in which you start your program. Failure to do so is considered withholding

Graduate Student Housing


The University of Guelph reserves space in its campus residence for new graduate students. Graduate students are eligible to apply for
accommodation in West Residence, East Village townhouses and University owned detached houses on the perimeter of campus.
Graduate students wishing to be considered for campus housing must submit their application and deposit by June 1. Applications
received after June 1 will be added to a waiting list and may be offered if vacancies allow. Graduate students with partners or families
are invited to apply for our Family Housing community. For more information about campus housing and Family Housing and

University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) (International Students only)


As an international student at the University of Guelph you may not be covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP), you will
be required to have health care coverage. The University of Guelph participates in UHIP. This plan will provide you and your eligible
family members with health insurance coverage (certain limitations may apply). The cost will depend on the number of people
covered - single, double or family (3+), and will be your responsibility. Enrolment is compulsory unless you can document other
