Reset from Windows Settings 

Reset from Windows Settings

To reset your PC from Windows Settings:

1. Click Start, type reset, then select "Reset this PC" from the search results.
2. Windows Settings opens and displays recovery options. Under "Reset this PC," click
Reset PC.
3. Under "Choose an option," select "Remove everything". This option reinstalls
Windows 11 and removes all your files, applications and drivers you installed,
changes you made to settings, and any software your PC manufacturer installed.
Important: You must "Remove everything" to successfully reset your PC. Otherwise,
you won't be able to set up your PC for IBM use after the reset completes.

4. Under "How would you like to reinstall Windows?," select "Local reinstall."
IBM recommends a local reinstall instead of a cloud download, as a cloud download
requires a strong and sustained network connection. If your network becomes
disconnected at any point, the reset might not complete.

5. Under "Additional settings," click Next.

6. If you recently installed a major update (e.g., upgraded to Windows 11 from Feedback
Windows 10), you might receive a notice that after you perform a reset, you can't
undo the update. Click Next.

7. On the "Ready to reset this PC" step, review the consequences of performing a reset,
then click Reset.

Feedback
After the preparations for resetting the PC have finished (this can take a few minutes), your
PC restarts.

If the reset completed successfully, and you didn't encounter any errors, Windows setup
begins. You must use the IBM-specific instructions to Set Up a Windows 11 PC for IBM
work.

If the reset didn't complete, or if you encountered any errors during the reset, attempt to
Reset from the Recovery Environment (RE).
