This study examined the kinetics of adsorption of substances onto activated carbon from aqueous solutions. The authors developed models to describe the adsorption rates over time and demonstrated that the rates followed second-order kinetics rather than first-order kinetics. Their models provided good fits to experimental data on adsorption of pollutants like dyes onto carbon from water.
