Background:
Bayer was founded in 1863 in Barmen, located in North Rhine-Westphalia, which was then a
part of the Kingdom of Prussia and is now modern-day Germany.

Initially, Bayer started as a small but innovative dyestuffs factory in the Barwomen district of
Wuppertal. Over time, it has transformed into a global enterprise employing more than
110,000 individuals.

The company was established as a partnership between Fredrich Bayne (1825-1880), a dye
salesman, and Friedrich Wescott (1821-1876), a dyer. It followed the common practice of the
era and focused on producing dyestuffs. Bayer Crop Science Limited Bangladesh is a joint
venture between the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) and Bayer AG.

Since its establishment in 2002, after Bayer's global acquisition of Aventis Crop Science, the
company has been operating in Bangladesh. It maintains a regional office and employs a
significant workforce. Many agriculturalists in the region are involved in the development of
modern and farmer-friendly approaches to crop pest control.

accommodating. However, due to time constraints, the observations were limited, and a
