Introduction Research methodology

INTRODUCTION:

The spring preparing organisation study is intended to give the handy

information of the corporate world. It was precisely in this setting that I
was sufficiently special to join Sri Bhuvaneshwari agro industries. I
accomplished loads of experience certainty during the last four weeks
which help me to assume the future liability on my shoulder. Amid this
period, was given to discover out the “RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
ON SRI BHUVANESHWARI AGRO INDUSTRIES”.Entraining

I had attempted my level best to organise the work in a methodical and

sequential way. This endeavour should give the rice mill a thought
regarding the economic situation.

Nature of Data:

The main structure of the main source of information for the study is
based on the data collection. Data should be collected secondary in
nature. Like Company Website, Reference of some Books, and some
Information collected by the Manager of “ Sri bhuvaneshwari agro
industries ”

Industry profile:

Rice is the staple food for almost 65% of the population in India. Paddy
in its raw form cannot be consumed by human beings. It needs to be
suitably processed for obtaining rice.Rice milling is the process which
helps in removal of hulls and barns from paddy grains to produce
polished rice. Rice forms the basic primary processed product obtained
from paddy and this is further processed for obtaining various secondary
and tertiary products.

Rice milling is removal or separation of husk and bran to obtain the

edible portion for consumption. The process has to be accomplished
with care to prevent excessive breakage of the kernel and improve
recovery of paddy or rice.

The extent of recovery during milling depends on many factors like

variety of paddy, degree of milling required, the quality of equipment
used, Rice mill is a common activity and can be started in many parts of
the country milling operation are husk, milled rice or edible portion, bran
and the broken rice.

Depending upon the type of rice mill, the by-products come out in mixed
or separated form.Milling is usually done when paddy is dry (around 14%
moisture content). Wet soft grains are powered and very dry brittle
grains would break.

Rice is considered to be a staple food diet in most parts of India

including the North-East states. Paddy is the most important agricultural
commodity in Karnataka and the total area under cultivation is estimated
to be around 80,000 hectares with annual production of close.

Status of rice milling units in india:

Rice milling is the oldest and the largest agro processing industry of the
country. It has a turnover of more than rs.25.500 crores per annum. It
processes about 85 million tonnes of paddy per year and provides staple
food grain and other valuable products required by over 60% of the
population.Paddy grain is milled either in raw condition or after
par-boiling,mostly by single hullers of which over 82,000 are registered
in the country. Apart from it there are also a large number of
unregistered single hulling units in the country. A good number (60%) of
these are also linked with par-boiling units and sun-drying yards. Most of
The tiny hullers of about 250-300 kg/hr capacities are employed for
custom milling of paddy.Apart from it double hulling units number over
2,600 units, under run disc sellers cum cone polishers numbering 5,000
units and rubber roll sellers cum friction polishers numbering over 10,000
units are also present in the country. Further over the years there has
been a steady growth of improved rice mills in the country. Most of these
have capacities ranging from 2 tonnes /hr to 10 tonnes/ hr.

Products profile:

1. Sona masoori rice:

It is a medium-grain rice grown largely in the Indian states of
telangana, andhra pradesh and karnataka. In Telugu, sona
masoori rice is called bangaru teegalu (meaning golden lvy). It is
lightweight and aromatic. This premium variety of rice is mainly
exported to the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, Singapore,
Malaysia, middle east countries such as Saudi Arabia, UAE and
Qatar.

In andhra pradesh, it is mainly cultivated in krishna, guntur,

kurnool, nellore, and twin godavari districts. In telangana it is
mainly cultivated in the mahaboobnagar, nizamabad, and
warangal, in karnataka, it is mainly cultivated in the raichur, koppal
and bellary, belagavi districts.

2. Broken rice:
Broken rice is fragments of rice grains, broken in field, during
transport, or by milling, mechanical separations are used to
separate the broken grains from the whole grains and sort them by
size.

Broken rice is fragmented, not defective. There is nothing wrong

with it, it is nutritious as the equivalent unbroken rice (i.e. if all
germ and bran remains, it is nutritious as brown rice; if none
remains, it is only as nutritious as white rice).

Due to the different size and shape of the grains, broken rice has a
different, softer texture from “unbroken” rice. And absorbs flavours
more easily. It cools faster. Using less fuel, and can be used to
make rice porridges and congees, which need long cooking times.

The broken varieties are often less expensive, and so are

preferred by poorer consumers, but they are also eaten by choice,
with some cookbooks describing how to break unbroken rice to
produce the desired texture or speed cooking.
3. Brown rice:
Brown rice is whole grain rice, with the inedible outer hull removed;
white rice is the same grain with hull, bran layer and cereal germ
removed. Red rice, gold rice, and black rice( sometimes known as
purple rice) are all whole rice but with a differently-pigmented outer
layer. Any type of rice may be eaten whole. Whole rice has a mild,
nutty flavour, and it's chewier.

Rice plants accumulate arsenic, and there have been concerns

over excessive arsenic levels in rice. There is more arsenic in the
bran, so brown rice contains more arsenic. The European Union
has introduced regulations on arsenic in rice, but the United States
has not.

Brown rice and white rice have similar amounts of calories and
carbohydrates. White rice, unlike brown ric, has the bran and germ
removed; and has different nutritional content.brown rice is a whole
grain and a good source of magnesium,Phosphorus,Selenium,
thiamine, niacin, vitamin B6, and manganese, and is high in fibre.
When only the outermost layer of a grain of rice (the husk) is
removed, brown rice is produced. To produce white rice, the next
layers underneath the husk (the bran layer and the ferm) are
removed, leaving mostly the starchy endosperm.
Services profile:

1. Exporting:

India is popular for its rice cultivation all over the world, as per the
statistical analysis, rice production in India covers around 46% of
the total food crop production. It is also seen that other countries
also demand rice from india. Hence, starting a rice export business
would be a profitable and feasible business option.
Rice has been a major element in the exports from India all these
years. However, the ever-growing demand for the rice across the
globe gives a good scope for the rice exports business from India.

Sri Bhuvaneshwari rice mills endeavours to strengthen its relationship

with everyone associated with the company. It has equipped itself with
powerful strategies to face any challenge in the future. Our vast network
helps the company to acquire superior standards in the global market.
