1. The height of two pillars are 50 meters and 150 meters. The angle of elevation from the bottom of
the first pillar to the top of the second is 60° . Find the angle of elevation of the top of the first pillar,
when observe from the bottom of the second pillar

2. From a point on the roof of a house 6 metre high, it is observed that the angles of elevation of the
top and the angles of depression of the foot of a tower post are 60° and 30° respectively. What is the
height of the tower?

3. When sun's altitude increases from 45° to 60°, the shadow of a post is diminished by 3 metres. What
is the height of the post? [Find approximate value correct to three decimal places taking 3 = 1.732
(approx.)].

4. From a point on the roof of a house 15 metre high, it is observed that the angles of depression of
the top and the foot of a lamp post are 30° and 60° respectively. What is the height of the lamp post?

5. The angles of elevation of the top of a pillar from two points on the ground are complementary to
each other. The distance of the pillar from these two points are 9 m and 16 m respectively. If those two
points are in the same side of the pillar. find the height of the pillar.
