Assessment for improvement topic discussed about how to improve student learning.

We give assessment for the students not only to test our student’s knowldege but at the same

time use it for the improvement of our teaching pedagogy. As a teacher, we must know when

and how to give a certain assessment. The ppt. files send by our classmates is about

assessment of learning and its type. Assessment are those activities undertaken by teachers,

and their learners in assessing themselves, which provide information to be used as feedback to

modify the teaching and learning activities which they are engaged.

There are many things to be assessed in our learners. They are the ability

differences,learning styles, interest, self-efficacy,goal orientation, knowledge, skills, performace

etc. We can access students by different type of test e.g. true or false, multiple choice, essay,

checklist etc. It is important for us to know the approriate assesment for our students. The

mastery of test construction for a teacher is a must.

We assessed our students because we want to know their level of understanding about

a certain lesson or previous lesson. We also use assessment to motivate our students and

make a commitment about learning. Integrating technology in assessing our students is helpful

for both teachers and learners. The use of online or offline platform will make the students

interested in taking our examination rather than the traditional assessment which is the paper

and pencil test. If we only have better internet connection which is not expensive and available

everywhere, I think the learners will be interested in taking the assessment online.
