THE WELL-BEING HUDDLE

Facilitator:

Ms Greta Rossi

Ms. Greta rossi began the workshop by explaining the significance of setting up your intentions and how
it is a fundamental part of wellbeing. She helped her audience by an activity where she asked the
audience to set up their minds on what were their intentions of coming to the event. This activity
included breathing exercises to relax the person and open their mind to think clearly. She asked the
audience about their intension as well as their hearts desire. Then each and every person wrote down
on a piece of paper their intention and it was all collected and paper pieces were chosen at random and
then discussed with the audience. The conclusion on this event was that to create a culture of well-
being we need to setup our intentions.

Then another activity took place where people had to discuss with strangers around them about what
they thought is well-being. The most common answers were “peace of mind”, “positivity” , “Happiness”
and “respect”. She conclude this by saying that there is no definition of well being but the idea varies
from person to person.

Then there was a third interactive session in which audiences were given pencils to balance on their
index finger and then move around making sure that the pencil doesn’t fall. The key message of this
activity was that life keeps on changing thus the meaning for well being also changes and we need to
adapt to those changes. She emphasized that well being is not constant but changes and if you are well
you can also help others to be well.

Then she spoke about the three interconnected ecologies of well being which were “me, other people,
nature”. She explained how all three are inter dependent and how we are dependent on other people
and nature.

And then she spoke about holistic well being model. Holistic well being model is how the person has
four aspects of well being which are mind, body, spirit, heart. She started with physical well being and
explained how we need proper and healthy butrition and eating habibts as well as exersices to keep our
selves healthy. Then she spoke about spiritual well being in which she explain how we need to connect
our selves with something bigger than us such as god. After that she spoke about the heart and how it is
important for us to have healthy relationships with everyone around us and how we should embrace the
human emotions. Well being does not mean you are always happy, it is okay not to be okay.

Then she explained how positivity and negativity are both parts of human well being and how we need
the both of them. She explained how well being and bad being creates whole being and if we just have
one we would only be living half our lives. Then she had and interactive session where she asked the
audience think about your life and see in what part are you good in the holistic diagram. She took
response form people eventually covering all four aspects

Then after this she explained how metal well being is affected by this new culture of entrepreneurship
where people burn themselves out and have no time for themselves. Then she brought the people back
to the holistic diagram asking them a different question now which was what areas of life they feel they
needed to change. Once again she took responses from the audience eventually covering how to change
all four aspects of well being.

Next, she explained how the human brain is hard-wired to see the negative first. Even though this is
natural she believes that the human brain can change and she calls this phenomenon neuroplasticity.

Then towards the end she brought her audience towards to the concept of gratitude sharing in well
being and how she herself keeps a journal. She said “sometimes joy is the source of your smile but
sometimes smile can also be the source of your joy.” Lastly she asked the audiences to write three
things they were grateful for from this workshop. The response from the audience was amazing as they
had plenty of things to share. Examples of such are how negative experience can be our greatest teacher
and how one should connect to the nature in order to get well being, how it is something that is for free
and should be availed by the most.
