    The reading passage describes a woman named Susan's surprise birthday party that her boyfriend John and family threw for her. Last weekend, Susan and John went to a mysterious party they found an invitation for in their mailbox. They arrived at a big house to find all the lights off and no noise. Confused and scared, Susan wanted to leave but John insisted they stay. When they knocked on the door and it opened, Susan's friends and family yelled "Happy birthday!" revealing it was a surprise party for her. John then gave Susan the gift he had brought for her. Susan was very happy and enjoyed dancing, singing karaoke, eating, and drinking with friends at the party until late into the night.
