Dalgona is a traditional Korean candy made by melting sugar and baking soda until creamy then flattening and cutting shapes into it before it hardens. As a treat, neighborhood children in Korea would gather to see who could carve out the shape without breaking it for a free dalgona. The recipe requires melting white sugar over heat while stirring until golden brown, adding baking soda, then pouring onto a pan to cool before cutting shapes.
