Ste󰈥 1: Des󰈎󰈇󰈞 c󰈢o󰈔󰈎󰇵󰈼
❖ The rst step is to gure out what theme you are
making cookies for.
❖ Next, you must pick out which cookie cutters you
will use.
❖ Then, using paper or an electronic device that you
can draw on, draw designs for each cookie as
accurately as possible. This allows you to plan for
the colors you need and how many of each design

❖ Find a recipe for no-spread sugar cookies and


follow those directions to make your sugar
cookie dough.
❖ Put parchment paper down on your baking
sheet, and place cut out cookie dough on top
about 1 inch apart from each other.
❖ Bake for around 12 minutes.

❖ Find a recipe for royal icing. Follow those
directions to make a white, thick, and u y
icing.
❖ Keep a wet paper towel over the bowl to
prevent it from hardening before you mix
all of your colors.

❖ Determine what colors you will need to make
for this set. Take out those food colorings.
❖ Separate an estimated amount of icing for
each color into a bowl. Doing one color at a
time, add food coloring until it is the
desired color.
Ste󰈥 5: Mak󰈩 O󰉊󰉃󰈘in󰈩 󰇽󰈝󰇶 Flo󰈡󰇷 I󰇸󰈏n󰈇
❖ Once your icing is the correct color, you must rst make
the icing an outline consistency by adding water until it is
the consistency of toothpaste. Then, take a small amount
of this icing and place it into a piping bag.
❖ Add water to the remaining icing until it is runny and falls

o of your spatula easily, this is your ood consistency.


Pour ood consistency into a separate piping bag.
❖ Repeat with each color until all colors are made.

❖ Using your design drawings as a
reference, begin decorating your cookies.
❖ First, use the outline consistency to
outline the cookie.
❖ Next, ood the base of the cookie within
your outline with the ood consistency
icing.
❖ Use outline consistency icing to add any
other details on the cookies.

Dir󰈩󰇹󰉄󰈏on󰈻 󰇿󰈡r A󰇹󰉄󰈏vi󰉃󰉙
1. Using the worksheet given, draw a simple design for each cookie cutter.
2. Once that is done, take play-doh and atten it with your hand. Choose one cookie cutter
and cut out a cookie shape from the play-doh. Place it on foil (in place of parchment
paper) and bring it to the teacher so it can “bake”.
3. Once you receive your baked cookie from the teacher, bring it to your table and use the
outline consistency to outline the cookie or a certain area (bags with black band), and
then ll it with the ood consistency icing (bags with white band).
4. Use outline consistency icing to add details to your cookie and complete your design.
5. Take a picture of your nished cookie and then you can eat it!
