Group Discussion related HAS Implementation

1. ABC Company is a company that produce flavor. The company has 5 blender facilities used to produce
certified products and not certified but do not contain pork or its derivatives. All products in powder
form. The company allow their operators who working at the filling product (filing area) do not need to
replace uniforms and gloves when switching from handling products that are not certified to certified
products, except if the uniforms and gloves are already dirty. Is such procedure enough? Please
explain!

2. National Logistic (NL) is a logistics company designated to store and send the materials to several
restaurants. In practice, NL differentiates the palette color for storing materials for Halal certified
restaurant and materials for the restaurant that has not been certified. Is this palette color distinction
being necessary? Please explain!

3. DEF company did tolling (toll manufacturing) in KLM factory for some products. In HAS manual, DEF
company noted that the implementation of HAS criteria is follow all the rules that apply in KLM
Factory. DEF company want to register for MUI halal certification for some products made in KLM
factory. What should KLM factory do to fulfill HAS criteria?
4. Most of materials for Evigo Co., Ltd are sent by vendor / supplier does not mention the information
about manufacturer's name in the packaging label. On the packaging only the mention this following
information:

Products from Taiwan

Lot. Number: 1234567H

Based on HAS criteria (HAS 23 000), whether the labeling rules required Evigo Co., Ltd is adequate?
Please explain!

5. For the Halal certified products which produced in Toll manufacturing facility, whether toll
manufacturer company must do incoming material checking process? Please explain!

6. Whether Criteria of Handling for Non-Conformance Halal Product can be answered by Recall
procedure? Please Explain!
