A SUMMARY
 LIFE OF PI
In the beginning in about the first person By Pi, they narrates
from a advanced age, looking back at his earlier life as the
high school and a college student in Toronto, then they
further back to his boyhood in Pondicherry. He explains that
he has suffered intensely and found salace in the religion and
the zoology. He describes hoy Francis, a clase business
associate of his farther´sand competitive swimming
champions, tought him to swim and bestowed upon him his
unusual name.

The ship is beginning to sink. Pi clings to a lifeboat and
encourages a tiger, Richard Parker, to join him. Then, realizing
his mistake in bringing a wild animal aboard, Pi leaps into the
ocean. The narrative jumps back in time as Pi describes the
explosive noise and chaos of the sinking crewmemberds throw
him into a lifeboat, where he soon finds himself alone with a
sebra, an aranguton, and a hyen, all seemingly in schok.

Then, the day pass so slowly and the lifeboat´s passengers
coexist warily, During a bout of temporany blindness
brought on by dehydration, Pi has a run-in with another
blind castaway. The two discuss food and their boats to one
another. When the blind man attacks Pi, intending to eat
him, Richard Parkers kills him. But not long after the boat
hulls up to a strange island with trees that grow directly out
of vegetation, without any soil.

Pi goes temporarily blind and loses his mind. He begins
having a conversation with Richard Parker in which they
mutually fantasize about the kinds of foods they would like
to eat. Pi fixates on vegetarian delicacies, and Richard
continues to revise the recipes with meat as the man
ingredient. At first Pi is morally outraged at the idea of
eating meat, but then he realizes that is Richard
Preference.

Then, Pi allows the man, who speaks with a French accent, on
the lifeboat, they believe him to be a true compaign. The man
attacks at Pi, saying that he intends to eat him, Richard attacks
and consumes the man. Richard and Pi eventually find on island,
which is made entirely of trees, leaves and plants. Then, Pi
makes a horrible discovery that causes them to leave the island,
Believing that he has found a fruit bearing tree Pi peels back the
layers of a piece of friut to find that it contains human tooth.

Undetermined amount of time passes, and Pi and Richard
arrives in Mexico, Richard runs into the wild and is never
seen again. Pi is brought into custody, given foods, and
questined for some time by two officials from the Maritime
Department in the Japanese Ministry of Transport.

Pi and Richard star here for a long time, sleeping on the boat
and exploring the island in the ay, discovers a huge colony of
meerkats whosleeps in the trees and freshwater ponds.

Then, officials transript of the conversation reveals that
ehy do not believe In Pi´s story in it´s enterety, and they tell
him so, intially,Pi sticks to his story, but then he offers
them another, somehat similar story in which he shares the
lifeboat with a crew member of the sunker ship, his own
mother, and a foul tempered French cook who eventually,
kills both Pi´s mother and the crewman..

At the end, two officials from the Japanese ministry of transport
interviwe Pi about his time at sea, hoping to shed light on the
fate of the doorned ship. Pi tells the story as above, but it does
not fully satisfy the skeptical men. So he tells it again, this time,
replacing the animals with humans a ravenous cook instead of
hyena, a sailor instead of a zeora, and his mother instead of the
orangtan. .Then, the officials note that the two stories match
and that he second is far likelier. In their final report, they
commend Pi for living so long with an adult tiger.
