When expressing conjecture.

 しけんをうけると おもいます。

When stating opinion.
 いっしょけんめい がんばりたいと おもいます。
I think I will do the best of my ability.
 やまださんは いしゃだと おもいます。
I think Mr. Yamada is a doctor.
 日本へ いきたい と おもいます。
 I think I want to go to Japan.
 にほんのラメンは たかいと おもいます。
I think that the Japanese Ramen is expensive.
 ジョンさんは ハンサムだと おもいます。

Direct speech
 Repeated sentence in the corner brackets.「 」
 たべてから「ごちそうさまでした」と いいます。
After we eat we will say (gochisousamadeshita).
 たべるまえに「いただきます」と いいます。
Before we eat we say (itadakimasu).
 かえるまえに「おつかれさまでした」と いいます。
Before we will go home we say
(otsukaresamadeshita).
Indirect speech
 Plain form before と.
 せんせいは あした やすむと いいました。
The teacher said that tomorrow is holiday.
 いしゃは このくすりを いちにちにさんかい の
むといいました。
 The doctor said that drink this medicine 3x a
day.
 田中さんは山田さんに あしたやすむといいました。
Mr. Tanaka told Mr. Yamada to take a rest
tomorrow.

4.N1(place)で N2 があります。
 N1 = place of action
 N2 = ceremony, event: Party, Concert, festival,
incident or disaster.
 ダバオで かじが あります。
In Davao City there is a fire.
 マニラで たいふが あります。
In Manila City there is a typhoon.
 にほんで つなみが あります。
 In Japan there is a tsunami.
 SM で コンザートが あります。
In SM there is a concert.
 セブで ラバパルッザが あります。
In Cebu City there is a Lavapaluzza.
