Bernard Tschumi
There is a contemporary architect that has always call my attention. His name is Bernard Tschumi
and he was born on January 25 of 1944. He is an architect who is commonly associated with
Deconstructivism which is a postmodern architecture movement that started on 1980. It think is
really interesting because it is characterized by the absence of symmetry, harmony and continuity.
His most famous project is the Parc de La Villette, which was in a competition project that he won
on 1983. Additionally, he is also recognize by other project such as the New Acropolis Museum,
Bridge in La Roche-sur-Yon and the Rouen Concert Hall. Also, the philosophy of his work is to
explore new ways of writing space also now as notation. He wants to transcribe the interaction
between space, action and movement on his creations.
