For poaching which is illegal and this is one of the reasons why they are in danger of
extinction In many places they are killed and then the meat is sold at a very good price and
the body parts of the gorillas are sold as souvenirs. The hunting of them takes place in
Africa so that they do not destroy the crops planted by the villagers.

Dian Fossey was an American zoologist recognized for her scientific and conservationist
