Whether it’s a label to communicate electric shock,
mechanical entanglement hazards, or multiple hazards, the
ANSI Z535.4 and ISO 3864-2 standards provide the building
blocks for product safety engineers to effectively
communicate critical safety information. Choosing how best to
present this information must take into account many factors,
including the intended audience’s characteristics, the product’s
marketplace, and compliance with the latest standards. In sum,
the product’s safety labels that result from the proper
application of the ANSI Z535 and ISO standards will be one
of your best tools to improve product safety and reduce
corporate liability risk.
