When the skip precedesa note from the string below, the
lst and 2nd fingers of the right hand can be used to play
the skip and the followingnote.

The pull-off is completed with the lst finger of the
right handpickingthe openG string.

The pull-off is most commonly used on the G string but
it is also possibleon the D and A strings. Pull-offs are not
used on the E string becauseit is difficult to achieve the
p r o p e rc l a r i t yd u e t o t h e t h i c k n e s so f t h e s t r i n g .

After fingering the F# on the D string, the 4th finger on
the left hand picks the G string as it slides across,with
t h e r i g h t h a n d l i f t i n g o f f t h e D s t r i n gi n t h e s a m e m o t i o n .

the right hand picking the open G string following the
s k i p . A s i t p i c k s t h e G s t r i n g i t a l s o p r e s s e sa g a i n s t t h e
open D string to deaden it.
