Activity 1: Create a cross section ground model for borehole WS01, WS02 and WS04A
and WS05 (presented in that order from left to right of your page) showing the ground
type stratification and any other relevant details.
Activity 2: Convert the N values at selected depth of the boreholes into
Corrected N’ values.

Here is an example procedure:

If N value = 9 from borehole logs

then N’ = 12 and correction factor N’/N = 1.3

Activity 3: plot the correlation of undrained shear strength values from SPT N’
values and CU Triaxial strength values of against depth for all boreholes on the same
graph. Show the best fit lines for each borehole plot.

Activity 4: Using the relevant charts and the N’ values and calculated Effective
Overburden (v) obtain the following values:
- Allowable bearing capacity
- Angle of internal friction
- Relative density
Activity 5: Plot the graph of PI values against depth for all boreholes at
selected depths.
